@papagiorgio_loves_bacon The show is a business in itself. There is a website, domain name, venue contract, intellectual property, customer, and dealer list. Dealers pay for tabels and vendors sell food etc. The show is a well established venue and thus had value to be sold to a new owner.

Raven, not really familiar with privately owned coin shows. Most in my area are shows put on by the local clubs--volunteer workers, free advertising, and any/all profits go back to the clubs' treasuries. In addition, we have a couple of Virginia Federation shows each year put on by all the member clubs, with profits going to the Federation for future shows and events. A friend of mine in a NC club has one show a year and the profits go to a free-for-members Christmas dinner, AND if enough money is raised, each member receives a free current-year SAE. I am also familiar with the large national shows put on by the ANA and other big sponsors, like the FUN show in Florida and the Whitman Expos in Baltimore. But I don't think I have ever been to a show owned by a dealer or dealers. BUT glad you got so much good stuff and cash--SO, be sure to buy Peppa and Slash some of those good doggy treats, so they can share in all of the good fortune. Just saying. 🥸

When it's said and done I have made a nice profit on selling the show. Text/comments aren't a proficient way to communicate as it seems you feel I was not being polite. I was to the point on things, is all. I will sell the silver off and do pretty well on the whole deal. I appreciate that you watched the video. I don't understand your response of what I got for the show. But there are no hard feelings or worries.

It has to do with having an established show that brings in Coin Dealers and Coin Collectors. Plus a venue that has been established. All of that has intellectual property and has value. The dealers pay to set up their tables, the venue costs money, the client list has value as well. So that is how a show is sold. The promoter makes a profit off of renting the tables at the venue that they pay for and advertise for etc. I hope that helps. there is also a pinned comment above.
