Ravenous Reach vs Body of Work: Who Would Win?

There were some modifications in boss data:
1. "Face your failure" was replaced by Samsara. Otherwise the boss would spawn nothing, but the fight will be in "failure" state, whick means Body of Work would only use "Strange Axis" that deals no damage.
2. "Rumination" from Ravenous Reach no longer adds "Horror". So, 20% Combo, 40% Horror, 40% Bleed became 33% Combo, 66% Bleed.
I had several random fights between these bosses, this outcome was the most interesting.

Simply just setting itself up for its third phase, since each debuff it sticks increases the riposte effectiveness

@@WhatWillYouFind it might be because in 1 your scaling is pretty high with mutiple level skill, trait lock .... etc so high leveled heroes can deal like at least 30 with a crit , if you have a high dps team and lucky then its possible to kill the boss with just one turn, especially for some good character like shieldbreaker/highwayman, maybe funny to do but the bosses are suppose to be challenge. While in 2 your party doesnt scale that much but can be really reliable with the path and the new token system is really busted, so the boss have to be strong to compete with it.

​@@WhatWillYouFind I Love both game, while the progression system in dd1 is good but it require you to grind very hard since your high level hero wont go to low level dungeon unless for special event, while their armor and weapon, skill upgrade is too pricy and its really dangerous to go in high level dungeon not fully upgraded because it might take 1-2 crit and your hero is dead and even if your heroes make it back its unprofitable since their cost for stress relieve and quirk is extremely high so you have to grind with low leveled hero most of the time to get money to supply for high leveled hero to upgrade and lock/remove quirk etc to have higher chance but they can still be killed easily if you are unlucky and if your high leveled party got wiped, congratulation you just wasted like at least 5 hours, want those best trinket back? risk fighting shrieker and if you are unlucky again other high leveled hero may die too . While in dd2 if your party wiped out you can just try again and you only lose like 2 hours and doesnt feel that bad.

I thought this would be an easy clap for the Body of Work. That breaking through a total health pool of more than 1000 would be overly ambitious. Such a goal would be beyond reach. Nice job getting this to work right considering all the mechanics of Body of Work.

Ambition is my favorite confession boss. Tough encounter that will punish you hard if you don't work around the mechanics, but doesn't overstay its welcome.

To be fair, there isn't much choice and I would also prefer fighting Act4 over other bosses: 1, 2 - Too easy, they almost made them as tutorial bosses. 3 - Current state require same approach - using taunts on each round. 5 - Fight is too long and not very challenging.

@@bengunn9670 Currently, taunt works against eyes. But the boss had many small reworks before, at first taunt wasn't working as you said. I had video of that early version, but removed it no to confuse people.

Honestly, even though the spam of "Precise Intent" probably hurt it, it also did help a lot in the long run. It looks like that move inflicts a debuff for the rest of the fight increasing bleed duration, and since "Last Grasp" deals all bleed damage at once, the Body of Work was taking massive hits from that move.

Damn that was close. Reach seemed like it wasted its second phase just spamming precise intent but really it was just setting up for massive damage in phase 3. But body of work managed to just barely eke out a victory through sheer durability and dot stacking

Honestly, this fight is pretty RNG heavy. Body of Work has 60% dot res in its final phase, and considering that Ravenous Reach heavily depends on bleed, it really relies on sticking it. If you redo the fight, Ravenous Reach could win, or lose by a much larger margin. Good fight though.

Nah, precise intent is why it did as well as it did. Each Last grasp was doing over 4x the damage it would have done if no precise intent debuffs stuck.

@@kadenha2175 yes but it used precise intent a tad to much. Letting the adds live and stack debuffs. I'm not saying it was a bad thing that it used it. I'm saying it overused it a tad,maybe a teardown here and there would have taken out the adds giving it time for even more setup.

Predictable end, but very unpredictable battle. I didn't expect the Reach to be this efficient. How phase 1 Reach easily teared through phases 1 and 2 of body... And in the and Reach almost won. Just wow...

No, in 10 fights, Ravenous Reach would lose 10 times. He has only 100HP against 999 and infinite minion spawn. Sometimes Ravenous Reach wouldn't stack enough bleed duration debuff (because of 40% Debuff RES): just 7 or 10, which results in half of total damage compared to fight in the video. Or less bleed stack (because of 60% Bleed RES). Or gets 1-2 crits from the boss.

If anything precise intent is the reason why ravenous ravenous reach have chance to win at all because without the bleed last won't even deal half the dmg that that the vid shows because it works like pd cause of death

Damn, I see I haven't gotten that far in the game yet due to time constraints so I am not familiar with how Ravenous Reach works I was looking at how it did upwards to 99 damage per attack while healing when it triggered a combo and thought that maybe it was able to simply out dps the Body of Work But that's cool to know

Honestly, the body of work would have won much earlier I think if it have spawned Covetous Glance in its stage 2 and Strange Axis in Stage 3 (only using Samsara when both minions are dead).
