Thank you for your video! I guess I'm looking up more than down lately because I have not seen this happen before. When I saw it a few days in a row while walking our property I was amazed and watched until my dog left me and my neck got stiff. I was hoping I was not going to see any fall to the ground.

Yes, it's an incredible thing to witness. I'm always worried about ravens getting injured during these pursuits, but I have yet to see that happen. I have a longer compilation in my upcoming documentary "What Ravens Do" which I will be posting here on this channel within the next couple of months. Thanks for your comment, and have a great weekend! :)

I think I’ve been accepted into my local conspiracy lol. I always watch and speak to these ravens near my job and when they had gotten into a fight with a hawk, one raven came to caw at me I think telling me they were in a fight. They always collect on the tree and building across the street while I work outside and leave after I start to work inside 😂

"the ravens work in tandem to get this THING out of their territory". It's obvious where the narrator's loyalties lie. 😅

The last two Marches, I have seen crows flying WITH a hawk or hawks. The first time, I saw what appeared to be an adult hawk and a juvenile hawk (Cooper's) flying in a relaxed manner with an adult crow in SE AZ. The second time was the same day, and looked like the young hawk was flying leisurely with the crow and performing some relaxed aerial maneuvers with each other, as if practicing. In the past, I have seen crows on attack, and these two instances were not aggressive incidents. This past March, I heard a crow making a call I had never heard before...almost like a cat purring, but crow-like. It seemed like a very relaxed call, not upset or aggressive. I searched the sky and finally found the crow at a very high altitude, flying wing tip to wing tip with a Cooper's Hawk, like they were best buddies. No maneuvers, just cruising together. Have you ever witnessed anything like that? Do you have any explanation?

Great observations, thank you for sharing! Most of my experience comes from watching ravens and red tailed hawks, but I have witnessed similar behavior. When a mated pair of ravens are nesting, they will chase red tail hawks away from the vicinity of their nest for about three months. During the fall and winter months however, they are more relaxed around red tailed hawks. Also, I have witnessed juvenile red tail hawks flying and playing with juvenile ravens.

From my observations and experience, ravens will attack red tail hawks And other Raptors, for any reason, but mostly due to vicinity. Or if they are exhibiting hunting behaviors.

Interesting. What region or country do you live in? Here in Southern California mated raven pairs won't attack hawks (raptors) during the summer and fall. Only winter and spring, during their nesting season. :)

@@exploringwildlifewithvance8815 I actually live in Southern California. I’ve also seen ravens sort of playing with red tail hawks with no seemingly aggressive intent.
