Since Herb's 2020 rookie season, there have been some O-line issues and the rush defenses have ranked at the bottom. That said, they've had offensive weapons that could play and score with anyone. During Herb's rookie season, in addition to WRs Williams and Allen, their speedsters Jalen Guyton and Tyron Johnson were Herb's deep threats. Herb was throwing numerous deep bombs throughout the 2020 season, something that hasn't been seen since. After OC Steichen left after the 2020 season, management didn't bring back Tyron Johnson and new OC Lombardi cut back on the deep throws with Guyton, and it didn't help when Guyton was out for the 2022 season. As for the Ravens game, the Chargers got run over, and while the rush D isn't as bad as the rush Ds from the previous seasons, they are a terrible matchup for a team like the Ravens. That said, if the Chargers WR core wasn't one of the worst in the league, they could at least strike back, but there continues to be separation/speed issues. The GM and HC are gonna have to address the WR position through the 2025 draft or via free agency in a serious matter. Or depending on their cap situation, go sign Tee Higgins.

If you watch the game, usually Henry isn't rushing for that many yards per attempt, but at some point he'll have a 30-yard run in there that will make his her attempt yards look a lot better in the end. Also notice when they get penalties it ends up putting them in second and long and third and long where they can't run the ball forcing Lamar to throw and taking off runs away because they handed it off and got a 10-yard holding penalty. @@mattcoccopuffs No, they arent. They are 1-4 against teams with winning records. They arent over-performing anything.
@burrellbikes49695 сағат бұрын
Probably a perfect description. Ravens are the Chargers “grown up”. Herbert was let down though by the receivers. Sustain a couple more droves and that game is very different in the 4th.
@segagenesis77083 сағат бұрын
Justin Herbert is getting a taste of what Lamar had to deal with for four years. Between Roman and WRs who can't catch for beans.
@michaelbell752 сағат бұрын
lol wut? Lamar was MVP of the league in 2019 and the Ravens were the highest scoring team in the league with 34 ppg, under Roman. Herbert is not a top QB like Lamar and Lamar had prime Mark Andrews to throw to. 2019 Andrews is better than every Charger receiver combined. This roster is atrocious at skilled positions, zero playmakers.

Don’t forget Aaron Jones and Vikings 9-2. Last year they had Mattison and they were bad. This year they add a good RB and the same results as other teams.

Lamar had another slow start. Had several over throws early, started by completing 1 of 5 attempts, then after that he completed 15 of 17 and was completely unstoppable. It's like Lamar needs to warm up but once he does you better hope you're early lead was big enough

JK Dobbins has been alright but he isn't fast enough. Ive seen countless times where he breaks away and then gets caught from behind.

Bad headline. Lamar didn't outplay Justin, Lamar's receivers outplayed Justin's receivers. There is probably only one receiver on the Chargers that would make the roster for the Ravens, including the tight ends.
@chrischilds3686 сағат бұрын
Lamar made a ton of plays saving the offense from bad situations. The run game was dominant but if you watched the game Lamar had to make a bunch of passes to save the offense.

I don't have quite the confidence this year in my Ravens but it is mostly on the defense side. It feels like the coaching and play calling hasnt figured it out yet and it keeps being concerning week to week. The offense is fine. The offense is top 3 in the league and the defense has the horses but do they have the coaching?
@autobond197513 сағат бұрын
The nfl is a total joke. The ref are calling things like a bunch of amateurs. I seen 6 holds on the ravens defense that wasn't called. I'm not a fan of either team. But clearly these games are fixed. I no longer give a crap about sports period.

This game wasn't as close as the score suggests...there were a few third downs where Lamar could have easily scrambled for the first but, a lot like the Chiefs, the Ravens don't have to blow teams out because their defense can control games...even though Aikman mentioned them being a shell of what they were a few years ago, they're still very good.

Is Colin repeatedly calling this a big game because Nick Wright says the only big games are Pittsburgh, the Chiefs and playoffs (which he generally loses)?
@Ineedrentmoney9 сағат бұрын
Big game because two big name QBs with similar winning records went at it. Against Buffaloes it was a big game, against Burrow was a big game. Nick is hating.
@davidpetrosky5 сағат бұрын
Wright singles those games out, because it feeds his narrative. Why is a game against Pittsburgh a big game? He says, division rival, that's why. Then, he glosses over his 17-7 record against Cleveland and Cincinnati. Also, division rivals. Why? Doesn't fit his narrative. There are 31 teams Lamar has played against. He has a .500, or winning record against 29 of them. Coincidence, that he feels the only big games, are against the 2 teams he has a losing record against? He's a hater. So are those that run with his bs narratives.
@michaeljones37656 сағат бұрын
Josh Allen doesn't struggle in the playoffs against the Chiefs...the Bills defense struggles. Big difference. The stats provide the facts. If you leave the field with 13 seconds and the lead; you should expect to win...
