I don’t understand why Chet left them unattended. He was doing so well this year. Hard lesson learned, but apparently not since the same thing happened last year. Hopefully both Thunder and Chet are ok. Maybe he had to leave the nest because Thunder is MIA and needed a break. Not saying she is gone just wondering if maybe that’s why he left them unattended. Sad.
@colorfulautumn97223 жыл бұрын
It was a miscommunication. Chet saw Thunder flying around the nest and left. He may have thought Thunder would incubate the eggs but she didn't. Idk what's wrong with Thunder. She doesn't seem interested in the eggs. Poor Chet had been doing most of the incubating. He needed a break. He was on the eggs as late as 2am waiting for Thunder to get back a few days ago.

@@ivanwesteurope You shouldn't speak of things you obviously have no clue about. Bald eagles were almost extinct 60 or so yrs ago. I don't find it hard to watch at all. Humans are way too disconnected from nature, this shouldn't particularly bother anyone, it's been happening for hundreds of millions of years to trillions of animals since.
@blackops9572 Жыл бұрын
Dumb ass take. Why shouldn’t it bother you? Should suffering not bother you because humans have suffered for millions of years? Do you not get bothered when in extreme pain? Just like these baby birds where likely experiencing. Being connected to nature doesn’t mean you need to be numb to it. You should except that bad things happen, but you shouldn’t completely lack any empathy. That just makes you psychopathic.

@robertoromero80533 жыл бұрын
This isn't common, but birds in the Corvid Family are known to hold grudges. They get their entire family and attack eagle nests. They chase the parents away and kill the eaglets for revenge. In this video it is only one Raven at first, so most likely the mother was out. Usually the female stays in the nest to guard the eggs. The male goes an provides food for her. Since she was gone the male must have died, so she had no choice but to go out and hunt, which basically doomed the nest. The only other reason why the eagles may have abandoned the nest is if a predator that could kill them found the nest site. Something like a Mountain Lion, Wolf, or bear.
