Quite possibly one of the most exquisite pieces of music ever played on this Earth. I have been a professional musician all my adult life and I remain in awe of this performance.

@kalnemi46746 жыл бұрын
this is a problem and it also has the solution. take any instrument you can play. You don't need to be a good player. you have to know the notes of the raga, the ascending and descending notes. You can get easily from Wikipedia. first be with the notes. play those ascending and descending notes for some times. Gather some knowledge about that raga you want to listen. Then listen it...

Milan Saha hello sir please reply 👆where can I get to learn "classification of ragas based upon feelings they express"
@sourishbanerje5 жыл бұрын
@@nishantpathak7636 buddy, i request you to first learn the basics of ragas before you go experimenting with them. your guru is your ears, Miyan Kaansen. so, listen to a LOT of ragas. start with the basic ragas, such as Bhairav (morning), Bhairavi (morning), Kafi (afternoon), Yaman (evening), Bhupali (evening), Khamaj (night), Bihag (night).

I think you should start by listening to old hindi (or tamil or telugu) songs that are raga based. Unconsciously, your mind and ears are conditioned by tempo and rhythm making alaps and jods of all ragas sound similar to you. It is difficult to get melodically attuned initially. With songs words provide a focal point and the raga's feeling will be unconsciously internalized especially if the mood is reinforced by good lyrics. After listening to 5 or 10 songs based on the same raga in different languages, listen to short instrumental pieces and see if the chalan of the raga resonates with you i.e can you identify the raga without consciously knowing what notes are being played? I myself am just a rasika and am not musically trained and classical music appealed to me because I listened to a lot of old film music.
