Our World travelled to Ramallah, Bethlehem and Haifa documenting the personal views of young Palestinian artists on the Israeli occupation, and how it impacts their music.
The rave scene has, for some Palestinians, become a focus for political dissent, for others an escape.
This film follows a growing subculture of Palestinian DJs, producers and musicians as they redefine Palestinian identity, freedom and resistance through music.

Few months ago I came across Boiler Room Video of Sama and she was awesome. It also blew my mind cause I saw a different side of Palestine and saw great talent. Yeah I kinda felt stupid too, having a culture shock and believing in what media always shows about this country. What was even more beautiful was reading wonderful comments from Israel citizens about peace, uniting, sending love and appreciation for them. Hypno Toad sorry that was your experience but that is not the fault of raves or drug use. It’s the fault of drug prohibition, low wages and poor working conditions which causes the incentives to rob people. Selling drugs isn’t negative. As consumers, we do have to be wary 😒 of the drugs a random person sells since it may not be exactly what we expect, but this would be solved by legalizing the sales of recreational drugs. Otherwise if you’re fine with responsible drug use then you are fine with ethical drug sales. 💊 🌿

I have no problem with drug use/sales but the key word is ethical. Some illegal drug dealers are dangerous, nasty, impoverished, desperate people. And I'm saying mixing with hardened criminals and serious drug users (crack and heroine users) is not a good experience. But I understand that it's not all raves, I'm saying it's only some. And whilst you're right that it's the fault of lack of opportunity for those people and not the fault of raves. Raves do bring that behaviour out and help exacerbate it. But again I'll say it's not all raves, I've been to a couple that had decent non-dangerous people.
