Good to see Composition A back on top! Good game. It looks to me that CA has a big edge over this deck after sideboard. All the blasts and land destruction seems to be a bit too much.

Great match! Comp A had to really fight for it after that first game. I think spirit link would've been a nice sideboard option...great on serendibs, but also just to keep you out of reach. In my experience, counterburn often runs out of steam against lifegain.

Oh that’s so true. Comp-A had two spirit links in sb 1 year back for exactly this- they are great against UR counterburn and similar. I Should perhaps bring them back.

Very nice! Have you tested Copper Tablet instead of Underworld Dreams? UD needs 3 black and perhaps tablets would be better. I don't know, I'm just curious. I really like Composition A.
@RaVNeFLoK
@RaVNeFLoK 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy. Yeah you’re right dreams are a bit cumbersome to cast now that the deck doesn’t use dark rituals anymore - that’s one of the main reason all the colored lands produce black mana. Underworld dreams just have this nice combo-effect with wheel of fortune and time twister for big bursts of damage. :)

@@RaVNeFLoK oh, I see. Yes, Dreams is better. I didn't realize all of your lands produce black. That's very strong.

How long have you had those Juzams? Did you collect them back when you were a kid? Getting them nowadays costs a fortune. I only have one myself.
@RaVNeFLoK

Oh yeah they are very expensive now sadly. Perhaps one day they’ll go down in price as well. I sadly sold off a lot of my old cards (for peanuts when compared with today’s prices) back in 98. I kept a few cards amongst others 1 juzam djinn. Back in 17/18 I bought another juzam straight up. Then in 2019 I traded for a third juzam for a couple of guardian beasts and the for the final juzam I sent a box with a crap ton of uncommon and semi-rare cards from revised, ice age, mirage, tempest etc that I never used anyway to the store ‘card kingdom’ for store credit only. I Used that accumulated store credit to buy the 4th juzam. :)

@@RaVNeFLoK Yeah I traded in all my cards (like a dummy) for some store credit when I was young. Then some years back I started collecting again but balked at buying any of the really pricey stuff. Then I decided to start buying duals and power etc just this last year. Had I done it a few years back when I got into it again it would have cost me half what it did. And now those cards are even more expensive. It’s insane.

Did that UR burn deck have a single shatter lol.

Haha nicely spotted. He told me he sideboarded both shatters out after game 1 and thinks that that was a mistake after seeing the su-chi’s :)

Still Wonder if braingeyser should be in comp-A.
@RaVNeFLoK
@RaVNeFLoK 3 жыл бұрын
I’ve tried both geyser and mana drain sometimes geyser did ok but it can be a dead draw for ages. Double anything else but black seems very fickle for my build. But if double color anything should be in there it should be geyser as you don’t usually want to play it early anyway so you can wait for double blue. Problem is there’s so much single card splash now that the “muscles” of the deck can’t be reduced further I feel. I’d like room for more creatures. Like a single dib or another vampire.

@@RaVNeFLoK I think my take on comp A would be something like this: Mana 4 city of brass 4 underground sea 4 scrubland 3 badlands 4 mishra 1 library 1 strip mine 7 solomoxen creatures 4 hypnotic 4 juzam 4 serendib efreet Spells 4 swords to plowshares 3 disenchant 2 underworld dreams 1 fireball (Or drain life if you're feeling kinky) 1 braingeyser 1 ancestral 1 time walk 1 timetwister 1 wheel of fortune 1 balance 1 regrowth 1 demonic tutor 1 mind twist 1 chaos orb I'm still trying to find space for 1 control magic and 2 spirit links. Other creatures I considered are Sedge troll, old man of the sea, Triskelion, Sengir vampire and Serendib djinn. For more "spicy" creatures there is also a nice variety of legends such as Gwendlyn Di Corci and Solkanar. A worry about this deck is that I have included 4 city, 4 serendib and 4 juzams. That's a lot of self-pings which will add up. I think you are overestimating library of alexandria. The chance of them drawing loa turn 1 is around 11-12%, the chance of having an answer is about 40% with 4 answers and 22% with 2 answers. These probabilities should be independent of each other so with 4 answers the chance of it "mattering" is only 4.8%, with two answers it would be 2.7%. Furthermore the draw7's, hypnotic specter, mind twist and simply putting pressure on the opponent can also be viewed as a kind of answer. Not to mention the chance of having a "counter-loa". I'm not trying to be rude or pushy, I just really like comp-A and would perhaps try to construct something similar if I had the twister and juzams :)

@@yamchadragonball6983 very interesting! It would be fun to see that deck in action. It’s always hard to know what would be best because it also largely depends on what meta you are against locally. I don’t use 4 dibs, 4 cobs and 4 juzams not only because of the pings as you mention (I think it would require md spirit links and drain life to make work - otherwise one could get burned out), but the main thing is that there’s a lot of city in a bottle here. That’s a lot of Arabian night cards that can be destroyed or blocked by bottles. Sedge trolls could be fun but they are a more defensive creature. I’m not saying that’s bad. They are very nice for their casting cost. I have used solkanar pre board before - he is such a cool creature. I usually took him away after sb as he can both be blue and red blasted - but first round he is def solid ime :) In terms of the sinkholes. I get what you mean and those percentages are pretty interesting. I didn’t know that only 2 answers would be that solid against LoA. The sinkholes are also there because in Swedish maze of ith is unrestricted and commonly used in my local meta. Sitting with a juzam out and creature removal in hand only to be blocked by a maze of ith is horrible especially as the juzam pings ;) So that’s my thought process behind sinkhole - for what it’s worth but there’s probably no 100% correct or wrong way to go about it as It’s so much dependent on what you meet.
@RaVNeFLoK

But I think I’ll try they geyser again as you mentioned. And perhaps find room for either a solkanar or a a dib again. Going down to 3 disenchants as you do - could be very viable imo. I’m a bit scared of “the deck” and all the robot decks out there if I do - but there’s a bunch of other games where 4 disenchants seems like overkill. Especially pre sideboard.
@yamchadragonball6983
@yamchadragonball6983 3 жыл бұрын
@@RaVNeFLoK I would most certainly cram the 4th disenchant in the board and probably 2 divine offerings. I think dust to dust is a bit color intensive, otherwise it would be a good addition :) The problem I have with spirit link is simply put that it's so easy getting 2-for-1'ed with plow. But they are really nice against opposing djinns/efreets and can serve as anti-burn cards.
