Nah. How is a song that sounds like an exact recess experience; Star related when stars aren’t seen like that during the day? 🤷🏽♂️ I’m confused; now it is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard in my entire life but it gives off exact elementary school vibes.

Verse 1] Chasing Chasing all the things you never had Facing Facing all the fears you never grabbed You've had The chance Sitting next to her With her fingers in her purse You can tell she does her work You may try to speak but someone was eyeing her first You sit back and try to rehearse those lines [Hook] It’s the first day back I need to relax Probably not her type I can see that guy What if she’s into all the things I do I gotta, I gotta, I gotta I gotta, I gotta [Verse 2] At recess you follow her to the swing set Her hair it swings While she jumps and clings to her friend she hasn’t seen today Yet she She looks so clean In those blue jeans You pray that she could never be A girl who don't know why It's so hot outside You look at the time The bell rings so high The bell rings so high You've run out of time [Verse 3] It's lunch and you give her your favorite flavor of Crunch bar You watch her As she gives it to her friend who has three different lunches You say that she’s ungrateful She can never focus On the way home The bus is full so you wait for her You sit by her And you fix your mouth to say hello As you fix your mouth to say hello You notice that she had already put in her bright pink headphones [Hook] I just can’t do this Every chance I miss I can tell that she ain't tryna know me Let your mind do tricks Ask her for that kiss I gotta, I gotta, I gotta I gotta, I gotta (ask for that kiss) I just can’t do this Every chance I miss I can tell that she ain't tryna' know me Let your mind do tricks Ask her for that kiss I gotta, I gotta, I gotta I gotta, I gotta

I’m sitting across from you Vibrations are streaming the emptiness in the room Melting all your words in my hand Tell me all the things that I am I wish that I could speak your perfect language I wish that we could travel to those places Where we’re faceless and we’re nameless Don’t you, don’t you crave this? I can feel the atmosphere unfolding Tell me if you pretty hearts worth holding I can feel the atmosphere unfolding Tell me if your pretty hearts I know you wanna hear me Turn down that blossom dearie And I try to speak to you in tongues But you’re never here to see me right And I never seem to lose a run When we’re following your stars at night See your lungs are never breathing right Your mother’s never eaten right You see she never really won her fight She’s handing me her torch to light Your fears and tribulations they are formed into a painting They are formed into a painting of us As I peer across the nation, all your stars get to formation They are more than your creation of love And the rhythm of our hearts are syncopated, vindicated, leave our doubts to sleep right here Feel, I wish that I could speak your perfect language I wish that we could travel to those places Where we’re faceless and we’re nameless Where we're dangerous? Don’t you crave this? I know you want to hear me Turn down that blossom dearie

Ronnie star24680 a boy follows a girl around whilst at school elementary\ primary your choice and while being fully infatuated with the girl that he loves she is oblivious to his passion and simply goes about life some say that it's a girl in love with another I think it's from a males perspective but I'm not sure In conclusion basically Young love❤
@breepenn7 жыл бұрын
Kayla Corbett I think she doesn’t include the person gender so she can focus more on the emotions behind it you know? Like she could’ve easily turned the song to a third person narrative and included a gender but this way it can relate to any person, it literally sounds like a regular young child just stumbling on love and not knowing how to confess it. Thats just my personal opinion on it though

R&B Not alternative R&B. R&B has been used fucked up samples & pro tools beats. There is no such thing as alternative R&B.

@@omegalavender you right .... I see where people who use the term are TRYING to go .... it’s either A.) it uses more elements from different types of music all through out the song or B.) it has that lack of “soul” (screaming, shouting, being dramatic, less live instruments, less vocal pronunciation, and last it’s simply not “black” enough
@omegalavender4 жыл бұрын
@@willarroz6703 The rhythm in her talent is why I say it’s R&B. Most people would assume that not being a power vocalist means alternative R&B. No sweet hearts, it’s just a different style of singing. I can see if it was Neo Soul; which is R&B + Soul that’s like Dawn Richard’s stuff but I wouldn’t consider Ravyn Lenae’s work, neo soul either.
@willarroz67034 жыл бұрын
@@omegalavender right ... but her crush ep and new song on the insecure sound track are soul tho the ep has a “pop gloss” on it though... the album from 2016 however is just r&b ... you seem to know ab music and I dig your commentary

this song is so gay and cute i love it
@heroine2347 жыл бұрын
Xan Mead this is gay I always thought she was talking from the guys perspective
@SashaClaudeee7 жыл бұрын
Kayla Corbett it is ambiguous, it could very well be from a guy's perspective, but in my opinion, the song takes on so much more meaning when read as a girl's heartache for another girl. "Chasing all the things you never had" could refer to the confusion wlws can feel when they're not sure whether they want to "be her or be with her." The oblivious response she gets is also characteristic of gay/bi women who fall in love with straight women. "Probably not her type" is also a really common anxiety for lesbians, i.e. "she's probably straight."
@SashaClaudeee7 жыл бұрын
Kayla Corbett I prefer the lesbian reading of the song myself, but now that I listen again, it could just as easily be from the perspective of a sensitive guy. Ravyn seems fond of that kind of personality.
