Come along for a whole day of fishing! We're on the Great Lakes targeting bass with finesse tackle and are catching a ton of fish! Its raw and uncut so if you've ever wanted to watch a 6+ lb Smallmouth caught from cast to catch on a swimbait, this is for you! Its an epic day of fishing! Come be a part of it!
In this unedited live video Matt utilized a variety of baits. A tube was the major player in the beginning, while the dark sleeper and keitech stole the show toward the end. Matt teaches throughout the day about adapting to changing conditions, specifically targeting bass in clear water, how to fish transitions and breaks, how to target shallow water fish, and so much more! This style of video is unlike anything else we do. Its long format but you’ve been asking for it so here is the change to see the struggles, the miles of water covered, and the successes as the day unfolds!
Down below the cut points you'll find a full list of all the tackle used in the video including links that go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item. Matt included his exact colors and weights, the rods and reels, and even included a great combo for the bass angler on a budget that still wants excellent performance while targeting big fish. Enjoy!

LOVED THIS! Watched from beginning to end. Currently living in my car, so fishing isn't a priority these days. However, I'm working on changing that. Thanks for taking me fishing with you. It really gives me more motivation to change my situation for the better, so I can get back on the water and catch some toads. Thank you, brother! ✊🏾👍🏾💪🏾🙏🏾🎣

Its awsome to see another grown man enjoy fishing on the same level as myself . i also get fresh line often and tie off as fast as possible and befor i even get back to set myself the line is already on its way out. I have never watched anyone fish for this long in my 40 years but the sheer joy that i totaly relate to, is glorious... Keep on keepin on

Matt: Please do more of this type of video. I agree that showing all the work involved is needed. At 70 it helps me know that my fishing can have ups and downs and that’s OK. Kids watching need to see the work to control their expectations. I can imagine people saying “they always catch fish, what am I doing wrong”. The answer is they are doing things right, they just need to keep improving their skills and be patient. What an amazing video. Loved the 12 mile run. Loved the 6.2# monster. Loved the fun! Thanks for taking us along!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I’ve learned much from your videos. This one even more so as I watched you cast time and again not catch a fish and see you hunt. I see you fan cast, change rods and lures, use various retrieves, adapt then move on after several attempts. I went from 90% of my fishing days skunks to 90% catching. You’ve helped me make some incredible memories with family, the most memorable is my six year old daughter catching 106 fish in a single day, 4 bass, 102 sunfish. I wish you all the best in your new home. Thank you for all you do.

Hi Guys ! Love the show. The raw and uncut psychologically levels the playing field, in that it shows the "dead time" between bites. Believe it or not, it has given me confidence that it us NOT every cast. I'm more enthusiastic and open minded. I get to see you guys using your knowledge, BUT..making mistakes too! I've learned a ton from your show. Humility is the "magnet" for incoming knowledge. Thanks Guys! I'm hooked ! 👍👍

I love these videos. I hope you post more like this it further explains everything you have taught everyone over the years. For instance I keep watching your reel twitches and your rod movements to further understand what you do to get your bites. In my honest opinion these videos are way more informative to the more advanced fishermen who already know what to throw, but are missing the subtleties that advance an angler to the next level. I would absolutely love to see this type of video for a body of water you have never fished before so we could watch you develop a pattern and evolve it throughout the day without prior knowledge of the fishery. Maybe even take us through your approach before ever leaving the ramp. A walk through of you looking for special spots on the map/gps before even taking off. Then as you develop an idea of what the fish are doing show how you find more like areas or areas that are different that would help you either produce more or bigger fish and why. Every time you guys press that record button I swear it is gold! Please keep up the awesome work!

i loved it. Watched every minute in bits and pieces over a couple of weeks and learned a lot. So much better than just seeing fantastic catches. I especially like the commentary: how to choose a spot, what to look for in weather, the decision-making, spotting the fish and telling us what you're doing to attract their attention, switching to a different set-up all of a sudden. I even sat back and enjoyed the mesmerizing ride on the water! My conveyance is a Hobie Proangler, so I can't run 10-15 miles from one spot to another, but I can pick a time of year, a day of calm wind, a bay on Lake Erie or something that makes sense for me, and of course, living in mid-Michigan, my county has 295 lakes with a good number I can access. Thank you so much!

You asked, and here's my answer: YES!!! Please, PLEASE do more full-length, unedited films of your day trips. Matt, this video was not only a true and real portrayal of Lake Michigan smallmouth fishing. It also showed me the simplicity of the strategy typically used by a highly skilled, very experienced angler (you). I expected you to change lures frequently; you didn't, relying essentially on just two all day. I expected you to try different colors of the same lure; you didn't. I expected you to "run and gun" more when the fishing in a chosen spot was slow; you didn't. All three of these "lessons" will help me a lot in my own time on the water this season, and I'm very grateful.

Yeah, my rule for Lake Erie is >10 knot = NO. At 10 knot winds,, you're talking 3 footers, and these waves aren't predictable 'rollers', I call 'em 'bobbers' and they beat you and your boat up big time. The walleye guys, with 21' Deep V's and shock absorber seats can handle up to 6's, but not my Aluminum RT188. Nope.

I'd love to see you make a video all about fish attractants. What works and what doesn't.

Yes! I've seen them, bought them, tried them, and I'm still not sure they even work. Love to have your opinion on this.

I think they work to a point . when worming a bass may just hang on longer . better feel, better hookset .

Guys I’ve been watching this a lot and it’s really awesome. But I’m putting in a request for a longer video. You guys really need to stretch the next one to 4 to 5 hours. When I’m watching I’m paying strict attention to your boat positioning, the way you change reel speed and rod positioning. Plus I love the play by play of what your seeing and dealing with in the water. I would love to see guys grinding it out flipping heavy weeds or punching weed mats for the next video.

On Erie. Sungill has been my top producer second to goby. I’d always heard they like chanteuses and black. 4 years I’ve went up there they haven’t produced for me. I go Memorial Day week every year that being said 3.3 is the size. I’ve upscaled too 3.8 and a 4.3. Trying for a bigger bite. It totally shuts the bite off for me. Their that keyed in on the 3.3. Thanks for the additional tips I look forward to trying this may.

Love the uncut video with links to action. Please tell us the general locations of where you're fishing! Especially on the great lakes. I dont need to know your exact honey holes but a generl idea would be awesome becasue it always seems to be so calm and I would love to get on the great lakes but my boat isnt the biggest so id be looking for calm bays/channels, etc... Thanks so much guys! Still hope to come fish with Matt for my 50th!

He is spot on that the Great Lakes look like the ocean. 1st time I seen Lake Michigan it was November 1989 and froze a mile out 30 degrees below. I went to a house and when I walked into the living room all I could do was stare in unbelief. 60 miles across. Amazing lakes up there!!!! Were you raised a Uper?
