Raw Feeding My Chihuahua

A few things to note:
1. Dogs can safely eat raw bones as long as they are not too small and are not weight-bearing (hoofs, knee caps, etc.) However, I choose to GRIND Roxy's bones. (Video coming soon)
2. Roxy eats 4oz of food a day (2oz. in the morning and 2oz. in the evening)
3. I do have a few supplements I add to her food on occasion: hemp oil & omega 3 oil
4. I prefer not to wear gloves while meal prepping Roxy, but I wash my hands A LOT during the process. The choice to where gloves or not is up to you!
5. ALWAYS clean thoroughly after you meal prep your pet. Wipe everything down with antibacterial cleaner, wash all cutting board/utensils, and dispose of all raw meat packages (in your home's outside dumpster)

How do you figure out how much of each meat to give and what each needs to weigh?

Being from a medical background I was lucky enough to be exposed to a lot of talk about nutrition and such. One thing I heard a lot was professionals advising diabetics and those prone to hypoglycemia that eating at the same times daily can create hypoglycemia. Vets say the same thing about animals so you're supposed to kind of switch it up. Makes sense. You don't force yourself to eat just because it's 8am, 6pm, etc. Neither should we our pets. Just a nice piece of information I've heard by many.

How much does Roxy weight? My dog is about 10lbs. Trying to change things up, he was diagnosed of cancer. Last year, was told he'll be gone in 3 months but it's almost a year now. I just wanted to help him more. ❤️❤️

Hi Christel! Thank you so much for reaching out! I do not mix any fruits or veggies into Roxy's regular meals; however, she does eat some occasionally when I share table food with her. Roxy eats the PMR (Prey Model Raw) diet, but there is a BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) diet as well that does have an allotment for vegetables and fruits in each meal! That particular day I meal prepped salmon, chicken necks, chicken paws, pork loin, and pork stomach. However, I have since then learned to cut back on the pork because it’s a fattier meat
