@@Carbonf1ber001The Kissimmee tornado was given a final rating of F3. This was more violent but it also did EF-3 damage.

@@Carbonf1ber001 the only video of that event that I've ever seen was from the next morning when the NBC helicopter out of Orlando was checking out the damage...I actually remember waking up and seeing it because we had a tall antenna that could pick it up and I'd always wake up and watch the news. Amazing footage! Finding the actual videos that storm chasers recorded of the Milton tornadoes is infuriating. KZbin's search is absolutely useless. The search results are just flooded with with hundreds of worthless news station clips that no one wants to watch. I had to wait until this video popped up in my recommended section 😞

@42 minutes on left bottom you can see a family of 3 Sandcrains, a Florida bird that is 4 to 5 ft tall. That is sadly amazing footage. I hope they survived.

Not yet, this will likely take a few days to get a full survey. I would venture a guess we get an "EF3+" from the NWS in the next day or two while they consult experts. Florida is an interesting state as the building codes, especially this close to the coast, are pretty strict for hurricanes.

The first and second F4s to be spawned by a Tropical Cyclone were Shanghai 1956 (associated with Typhoon Gilda) and Galveston 1961 (associated with Hurricane Carla). The last F4 to be spawned by a Tropical Cyclone was Lafourche Parrish 1964 (associated with Hurricane Hilda)

Building built post 1992 are meant to withstand another repeat of Hurricane Andrew, so any buildings destroyed by tornadoes in Florida that are built after 1992 would earn an automatic EF4 rating as it’d take winds of 170 mph to take out a house post-Andrew

@@Vokle7 vortex winds are vastly different to hurricane force winds. For the same Andrew level damage of half the house (at the time that existed) gone for example many tornadic scenarios could unfold, one being a 130mph EF-2 wedge tornado drilling past that house. It's not a directly proportional expectation for the type of damage.

wow this is something you never usually see in florida a wedge multi vortex tornado, Largest rated tornado in florida was in 1998 in kissimee Fl in feb. It was rated f4 and downgraded to f3. Amazing footage here

That is a midwest tornado not a Florida. That dry air with the moisture and wind shear created a midwest weather condition. You guys did good hanging in there.

Most hurricane spawned tornadoes don’t get above EF1 or 2 at the most. This has to be EF4, which would make this the most powerful hurricane twister in history. 🌪️

that is an extremely violent and large wedge, prolly maxed out at low-end EF4 at the moment the rear inflow showed up and causes it to spin faster.

I said the same thing on another video. I think this was around the same strength which is very rare for Florida. Only a perfect weather setup would cause this.

I definitely agree, watching coverage from Ryan Hall live I was so confused as to why it wasn't classified as an emergency as it checked all the boxes that I know to exist for one and then Meteorologist Andy Hill chimed in and said he also believed it should be upgraded to emergency. I would love to hear an official response as to why that didn't happen.

@@Carbonf1ber001It was an EF-4 in strength while doing mostly EF-3 damage. There was a truck that got badly mangled by this twister and with that damage I would have rated it EF-4.
