Damn that was a super fun day at Huntington. ^ Andy was so loose yet so precise and aggressive with his turns. Andy absolutely ripping.

Not remotely close. Not only was he much better at anything Kelly did his best at, but he did so much Kelly can never do. Kelly was a good typical maneuvers surfer of his time but there are so many others that best him in many ways. Irons is like a combo of all the best in one.

Such a rad video. To be thrown back in time by this. Crazy thing is you wont see vids made like this anymore. Bikinis and butt's. People get too offended. But what's the audience gonna be anyways?! Andy was slashing the face off some of those waves though!

Andy Irons was a more dynamic creative surfer, more stylish, more radical,… than Kelly Slater,.. I think

Slater didn't surf better than Irons in my opinion, especially in the maneuvering department on the backhand

Many surfers are better than Slater. Slater got lucky Irons went down or Slater's name is never so famous. Slater just hit timing perfect getting his Championships in just before Irons stepped in. Nothing against Slater who is a great surfer but is way overrated because of tour success at lucky timing.
