I’ve watched so many other athletes pass their fans right on by, no autograph or even an acknowledgment of their existence. Jamie comes out of the ocean and starts signing autographs and taking selfies and after turning in his jersey, he makes sure that every fan gets a pic or signature. It doesn’t cost you anything but a little bit of your time to make these peoples day and gave those kids something to talk about with their surf buddies as they grow. You are a class act, Jamie and that was super cool! You definitely psyched those kids up!!! Cheers!

Jamie won the Pipeline Masters in 2004, when he was 21 years old. The Banzai Pipeline is only 100 yards from his house. He's one of the most respected surfers in the history of the sport, and a true champion.

Jamie O'Brian has his own merch company, lives in a multi-million-dollar beach-front house on the North Shore, runs a surfing school at Turtle Bay, has a bunch of sponsors, spends his life traveling around the world, doing what he loves, and is still nice to everybody...even when he's clowning them! He's got 2 dogs, a hot GF, a dad, and a ton of friends, family, and fans who all LOVE him, and he's probably going to pass-away some day, hopefully a very long time from now, while surfing. So, how do you figure he's 'losing it'? WTF?!?

How cool to walk out of your front door and then into a Pipeline Masters contest where the vibe on the beach and on the water is pure love. What a happy life. Jamie definitely nailed it. And then to share his psyche with all the young ones is just icing on the cake. So nice to see him passing his love for the ocean on to the next generation. I’m sure someone will show up to criticize you, being the Internet and all, but you seem to be doing all the right things in life. Enjoy it, and thanks for sharing it with us. I'm 15:00 in the video and on the edge of my seat! This feels waaaaaay more intense than your usual videos, which I also love. I can relate to getting out through incoming sets on a longboard, wave selection, disaster avoidance, etc. You can't duck a longboard like you can a shortboard. It was "as if" our boy JOB took us along ! This was sooo exciting . We lived and surfed all our lives on the North Shore. We witnessed some of the most outstanding surf sessions in a lifetime...LIVE ( ie: the Slater Machado heat, All of Jonny Boy's back door performances......) . BUT THIS ?
