Looking at straight numbers Lamar Jackson 115.4 Jarod Goff 115.3 Josh Allan 107.6 Sam Darnold 107.2. I would have never imagined he would be 4th in the NFL before the season started. But he's 6th in the NFL in getting sacked. Some of the plays are too slow to develop. Coach needs more quick hitters and slants, instead of home run balls.

Hopefully Hock, Jones and Nailor can open up the medium passing game!

Im just hoping he stops locking in on 1 receiver looking at the tape he doesnt progress through multiple receivers most of the time and will just stare 1 guy down, that can be fixed though!

After the first 15 plays the Vikings need to shut down the WiFi so the Colts can’t look at their Microsoft Teams tablets and adjust to our scheme.

hope you are right, but if KOC doesn't change play calling or give it up, they will continue to lose against any tough teams

Two thoughts: first, the Lions loss was a legit loss to one of the best teams in the league. We like to rip on them as Vikings fans but it's worth remembering that they're motivated by the same chip on the shoulder that we are. They're putting up upwards of 50 points and more on everyone else. Only losing by two is nothing to be ashamed of. Second, the Rams. That was a team loss. The defense got clobbered and the offense didn't produce quite enough. But one stop from the defense and one more score from the offense, and that one's a win. People keep acting like we got blown out. And we're 5-2. Sky's still the limit as far as I'm concerned.

With the disclaimer that I’m posting this while the game is still going on… The Texans - Jets game tonight is proof that good teams can sometimes have bad games. As a Vikings fan, I take a bit of comfort here… Even though I don’t really care for the Jets and I do rather like the Texans.

I’ve moved on from those last two games and realize that experience is the best teacher so I’m feeling more optimistic for the Colts game.

Biggest Problem is Koc not adjusting and not holding darnold accountable for his mishaps

Darnold is good. We were lucky to get him. He can still get better and I think he will.

No teams in the nfl are perfect. They all have weaknesses, and have room to grow and improve. This includes the Vikings.

#1 problem is offensive play calling. Like you said, great when scripted but in weighty downs play calling is atrocious

Great commentary Andy! FWIW, I am much more concerned about the talent deficiencies on defence....and ideally an upgrade at C. Getting Dexter Lawrence, or Quinnen Williams would instantly upgrade the D, and getting Onwenu at G from NE would enable Risner to take over at C (FWIW, I worry about Jeffrey Simmon's health, and just replacing Ingram will not solve every problem in the trenches...) . The Colts have a really good RB, so I remain concerned about our iDL...so if Kwesi A-M still has his head in the ground regarding the iDL, he will get a wake-up call if the iDL struggles on Sunday night. My hope is that Cashman is back, and Flores can have his front 7 clog up the middle, while the CBs play press coverage & AVG feasts on Flacco!

Not for the faint of heart: This team is going to have a huge gap of talent. Between dumping Slick Rick’s entire draft classes, save Jets, and swinging and missing on the last three. Kwesi is desperately mortgaging the future by giving away future picks. Sad that we all pile on board the Kwesi train. It’s heading for disaster.

What positions do you see this gap appearing?
@tylerreining106115 сағат бұрын
@@ahastar1141 CB, OL, & DL. We've been trying to draft these positions for years and missing.
@ahastar114114 сағат бұрын
@@tylerreining1061 Cb is definitely the hardest of those to draft. I think with our cap we probably are best trying to swoon a young guy off a bad team. I think oline wise we have been very comfortable with some very meh play. Tackle are good but O’Neil is getting old. Ingram needs to be replaced and Bradbury has been extremely athletic but definitely a position we could use an upgrade. I am hoping jurgens and rouse develop because they both have excellent size and could be direct replacements in the future. Jurgens at 6-5 311 is a big guard or center
@tylerreining106114 сағат бұрын
@@ahastar1141 Yes, but that is the problem I have with Kwesi. He is in the mode of "rent-a-player" using draft capital and when he does draft, he misses. I HOPE Turner comes around and JJ is the next Tom Brady. Just like you are hoping for Jurgens and Rouse to develop, all we can do is hope. I just haven't seen anything good from Kwesi save the coaching staff. I LOVE the coaches. They are the ones keeping us relevant.
@ahastar114114 сағат бұрын
@@tylerreining1061 but just because you bring over someone from another team doesn’t mean they are a rent a player. They can be a longish term option depending on when you grab them

Purple Kool aid time today I guess. Not really feeling good about much after losing 2 straight, and the last loss to a team with a losing record. Defense had been exposed and KOC continues to struggle in the 2nd and 3rd quarter on offense.

Listened to the podcast right up to the point when you started dishing on Darnold. First, McConnell is the OC and HC, his scripted plays may be good but he is average at best at calling plays that require answering defensive adjustments that have been made. Then, let's talk about having a superstar TE that has been on the sidelines from the beginning of the season, will he open the middle of the field you think? Darnold won't find him? You may want to go back and look at some of Darnold's college tape and then look at his tape especially his first 4 games of his time on the Panthers, and what Shanahan said about Darnold when he got to San Francisco. Can Darnold not hold onto the ball for as long? Sure, give him a reason to do so and he will. But he is looking for chunk plays and that requires an extra second or so to have them develop. Your analogy with Bledsloe is suspect. We will see what happens in the next 10 games with Darnold, then the playoffs. You want a rookie leading the team next year if the Vikes go deep into the playoffs, be careful what you wish for.
