For potty training we have just done it will my 3 month old after the last few weeks. We got a I think fisher price potty but it’s got a removable seat top that fits on big toilets and it also acts as a step. We bring the seat top out with us to use in toilets out and about. We also bought off Amazon a portable thing that they can wee in Inwill try and copy the link to it or send you in a DM it’s handy for when there’s no option for a normal seat. It doesn’t leak either. We also bought some little bits to give as incentive when we started and that did help him want to go. We also picked out some pants with his favorite characters in Asda do some good packs. We also got some pull style nappies for sleep as he still does a wee at nap time and bed time 💙 hope that helps xxx

Oh bless!! I miss being nap trapped. You know what, I am right there with you. It actually feels painful most days to actual just get through the day, but as challenging as it is our little ones give us that purpose and reason to get up. My mental health is very rocky but something I would recommend is focus on you. Find your new style, new identity after becoming a mum. Find a hobby or do things for you, have pampers booked in. When you start finding who you are and loving yourself, it really does help shift your mindset. Sending love, we got this xxx

I ve tried online therapy, over the phone, group therapy you name it, and nothing compares to one to one in person session. If you can find the time just go in person. Hope you feel better ❤

Thanks for reassuring me with this, I agree lovely. When I had over the phone therapy I felt like the compassion and emotion wasn't there, it was just them going through a list to tick things off. Going to try and book something in the summer its just very expensive. but should be a priority for me so will have to do it xx

@@athomewithliv can’t you book through your GP? I know private is probably better but the free sessions are worth it too. I ve had one to one with iCope and the therapists were really nice, you can do self referral with them.

I was diagnosed with PTSD following a traumatic birth and I found face to face therapy incredibly helpful. I did a type of CBT that is specifically developed to treat PTSD and treatment was so tough! But I haven’t had symptoms or relapsed since I was discharged about a year ago. It was hard work, but so worth it! I hope you find a therapist you connect with soon. X

For my 2 year olds potty training, we tried the nappy pant things, but she just kept using them as nappies. So we went for it with just normal underwaer. We have a potty in the house, a travel potty for out and about (highly recommend, they can suddenly need a wee and you need somewhere fast!). Thats it for now, 2.5 weeks in. Oh and the puppy pad sheets for the bed, she has overnight accidents about 50% of the time at the minute. Were thinking of getting a stool and seat for the loo as she asks to use it but cant climb up without the stool and its too big for her bum at the minute! Good luck :) x

I love our carry potty like the one you showed. We keep in in the car. My boy is a bit older than yours but even though he has been potty trained for a while now we got caught short the other day and thankfully still keep it in the car. Nothing worse than being out and about without knowing where a toilet is. Would definitely recommend it!!

I had a folding sear she only used it for a few months now goes on a normal seat. We do have a toddler seat for upstairs was £4 Asda. And the “family “ seat on the other toilet. I got a travel potty never used it. Same with a normal potty she used it twice. I did get car seat pad but had no issues. Could just use a puppy pad. I popped puppy pads inside the sofa cushions to avoid the sponge getting wet.not needed them. Only used when she had a bad sickness bug b

Potty training- honestly I'd just start with a potty, pants and puppy pads for underneath. I went and bought all the things day 1 and most never got used. You'll find out what you need as you go and everything comes amazon next day delivery. I will say for long journeys we got the pee bottle rather than a travel potty its much cheaper, portable and more subtle. Hope it is going well!

Poor Arlo with the park incident 😢I would have absolutely told the girl off, if there parents can’t be arsed to tell them off then I will, the first time it happened at a playgroup where a boy was snatching and stamped on my then 11 month olds hand, I didn’t say anything and I beat myself up for ages for not sticking up for him, from then on I haven’t held back in telling them off and asking where their parents are. Often their parents will be pretending they haven’t seen what’s happened or be buried in their phone 😡 also we’ve been using the carry potty for a month now with my 2.5 year old and he loves it, it’s worked a treat for us and so handy when out and about.
@athomewithliv

I know right!! Its a tricky situation. Before I have had a parent at a class tell Arlo off for not sharing, when just started to get involved in the activity then he had a massive meltdown and we had to leave. I wish I stood up to her but in the moment I was just a bit overwhelmed. Yes, agree with that. I was shocked as looking around for ages to find the mum and she was nowhere to be seen. Maybe, thats why she was acting up to get some attention. Oh fab thank you, I think I need to get one. Been an expensive month with going away end of this week, so think I'm going to do the order in June start it properly then xx

Love your vlogs. So sad to hear you’re struggling. I’ve felt similar to what you describe about friends etc. have you looked into autism and adhd for yourself? I know you’ve mentioned it for Arlo. Also my daughter who is 5 struggles to go to school in the mornings. I think separation anxiety is common in neurodivergent children. I agree though, it’s so hard to do the emotions day in day out xxx
@athomewithliv
@athomewithliv 2 ай бұрын
Oh wow I never sort of linked the separation anxiety to the autism, so thats very interesting to know. Sorry you have felt the same with friends, sometimes it is easier to just isolate yourself then you don't get hurt. But not healthy to do that. I had another awful drop of yesterday, not sure how much more of it I can take to be honest. Yes, I am 2 year in I think to a 5 year wait list for ADHD. I definitely have autistic traits too. I am sure everyone is a mix of everything just different levels xxx

Hey. I’m from the UK and my daughter was born in 2021 too. My labour was almost just as bad as yours. Was without my partner and then was sent home but by the time was back I had to call an ambulance as pain was too unbearable. After loads of failings during labour I finally gave birth to my daughter but had a bad tear. They took 3 hours suturing whilst student midwife had my daughter who was screaming in just a towel unfed. I too didn’t think I’d ever hold her again as my pain was horrendous! Eventually had to go to theatre too and lost so much blood I needed a transfusion and then on high dependency unit for 3 days. Even more failings in that time. The trauma still is with me too ❤

Oh my gosh nooo, I am so sorry you experienced a similar situation to me, bless you! Super scary and stays with you forever doesn't it. Has also made me scared for a second. I was at the line on the graph they showed me where they offered me a blood transfusion or an iron drip. So I did the iron drip and luckily that brought my levels back without needing a transfusion, to a better place then was taking iron tablets for months. Do you still think your iron levels are low? I have a lot of symptoms still and wonder whether my bodies iron has never properly recovered. Might try and get hold of some more iron tablets xx

Have you asked the GP to look into Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? I found CBT hard work and was exhausting For I we have the penguin seat x2 one for downstairs 1 for upstairs. And then the dinosaur carry potty. We are slowly introducing her to them. They came from Boots as we’re on offer. Stool is helpful for so much including teeth cleaning. Nursery wise I would not worry too much it’s always hard dropping them at times. My little one would some times cry sometimes she goes in fine. I have the same anxiety about the other kids at the park. Often I walk away to a different area. I would also make the other parent aware but say I don’t want conflict just to let you know what’s happened. Feel your pain on the friends stuff too I am same I have ADHD as an adult diagnosed two years ago so know the pain and also how much you hurt. I have found that being found to be ADHD has been a blessing and a curse. I think housing is hard work. I work in accommodation for the government and yes there is a lot of challenges. I would ask for the provider / association to meet with you to discuss the situation. They can advise you then on options etc. I would mentally prepare to start moving I.e. start to plan what you want it to look like. Get stuff moved on you don’t need etc. I find this keeps you motivated. Arlo will be ok if he has to change schools I did it at a younger age around year 4 I moved and it worked well. Please never loose sight of the amazing job you are doing! As someone who has huge self doubt in their ability and also their parenting of a 14 year old and 2 year old. You are immense! I know you will have some luck soon! Re elemis - qvc uk sell this and often have some of the best deals will save you a few quid. Also they do easy payments Therapists I have found that they might not be the best at first trust your gut on them and how they are with you. If it’s not assisting change to a different one

Aw thanks so much for this comment. It often doesn't feel like we are doing a great job, so nice when people notice and tell you that you are. You sound like a great parent too, we need to believe in ourselves more. To be honest, I avoid the GP's as much as I can. My experience hasn't been great with them. When I did CBT before I found the same and found there was a lot of homework to do like logs and I was in a place where I was already so overwhelmed, I didn't have the capacity to put more on my load. I have found a face to face person its just very expensive so need to save up a bit to do it. Ah fab about the potty, need to look at boots and amazon I think to compare. Housing situation is a nightmare, we are struggling to get any replies or communication from then housing provider. We have to go through shared ownership. Even struggling to find a house we can afford on that, as just goes off my partners salary as I'm self employed. And they go like hot cakes! Even when we did get approved for one in Northampton it was taken. Feel very confused about it all to be honest and knowing where to live xx

I think you did the right thing at the park- patents should watch their children though. I had to tell a little girl once to stop picking my daughter with sticks. With toilet training we just used a seat that attaches to the toilet, a reward chart and undies. I have seen with boys that you can get a urinal attachment from temu.

Hi Liv, I had a similar issue with my little boy and another little boy at a playgym. Whereby this little boy was hitting my little boy. Like what do you do when other parents aren't watching their children? I didn't feel comfortable telling him off. In the end we moved to another part of the playgym. Xx
@athomewithliv
@athomewithliv 2 ай бұрын
Ah!! Its so hard to know what to do. Then you beat yourself up after for not sticking up. But at the same time, those children are probably going through their own challenges and just projecting their emotions in the wrong way. Either way, its not down to us, its up to their parents to support them and take ownership of the situation. But most of the time they aren't looking or bothering such a hard one xx

If that happens again , do tell the parent of the child what happened so they can hopefully speak to thier child about kind hands / ways to behave. It looks like he may have eczema, get it checked out by the dr incase he needs steroid creams.
