I grew up in a Black community. It was not a hood. Families lived there. We rejected ghetto, hood, thug, lifestyles. There are still neighborhoods that exist like mine. All Black people are not the same.

I'm happy to not even had social media in my day! We weren't so stressed out with too much chaos goin on all the time! Lot of street dancing, hanging out at the city park or so beach, with music an lots of laughter. My heart aches as I slowly watch most of our young ones dying in the streets for no reason whatsoever! Lafayette is totally different than New Orleans. You can’t just walk into a hood in New Orleans. Lafayette? You can. I’ve lived on the West Bank of New Orleans and we got out of there. Lafayette may not look rich, but they may not look like they successful, but they are so rich with culture and welcoming. For his safety, I wouldn’t recommend him going to a known neighborhood in Nola.

I just got here recently and I can tell you that Lafayette is becoming Houston and California with the traffic. I was in a section of Lafayette and thought I was in Huntington Beach mixed with Compton at times..Traffic is terrible. Big city problems have come here.

You should come out to Honolulu Hawaii. There are some hellafied Crip and Blood Hoods out this way. The two major Crip hoods are Kuhio Park Terrace and Halawa Housing Project and the Blood Hoods are Kam IV Housing and Mayor Wright Housing. You get some great content out here.
