Thanks for the inspiration, man. I'm starting a plant based lifestyle myself. And this video really hit home with me. I've had similar experiences. I once weighed over 400lbs. I weigh about 360 now but I'm struggling very hard to keep it going. But I think as long as I focus on the future a keep looking forward I know I'll succeed. Tnx. Take care.

Thanks for your honesty man. I can empathize with the emotional withdraws brought on by detox. It can be discouraging and force your thinking to being short sided and seek comfort through prior SAD choices, but then reminding yourself of the long term fruitage of remaining consistent, helps with coping during that initial stage of detox.
@j.r.77039 жыл бұрын
Alan Serrano Well said Alan. I remember very early on in my transition how awful I felt. The cravings and the emotional withdrawal that came with it were so intense to the point where I was questioning why am I even doing this? But I knew those unpleasant feelings would eventually pass. All I had to do was remain focused on my goal. That's it. Keep the goal in plain site and move forward.

Jared, thank you so much for sharing your story. I just found you today and I am SO glad that I did. I am going through my pantry and fridge to get rid of A LOT of crap so I can start replacing with fresh fruits and veggies. I have a question, financially how did you handle the food bill with so many fruits/veggies? Is it substantially more than a typical SAD diet food bill? Thanks again for your inspiration and I hope to hear back from you.

Although I have been a primarily high carb cooked vegan for over 3 years.. I still can't kick my salt addiction ! Do you have tips for this? I've tried eating celery or using celery juice or lime juice but nada. Any advice would be so wonderful :)

Hi Jared. I watched all your videos today and they were very inspiring. I've been vegan for 7 months and have been trying to do raw til 4p for a week now, but I really want to lose weight and I know raw food seems to make a person lose weight faster than cooked. I was wondering if you could do a video with as many raw food ideas for weight loss as you used when you lost your weight. That would be really helpful. I have about 100 lbs to lose and I enjoy the inspiration you are sharing, it's motivational. Thank you!!! :)
@j.r.770310 жыл бұрын
loriejean72 First off, thank you for your comment! Second, I don't know if its necessarily true that people lose weight faster eating raw compared to eating cooked. I think it really depends on the person and the many variables that come into play. Age, gender, dietary past, and of course, how your body deals with, uses, and reacts with certain foods, and the choices of foods that you give it. On a side by side comparison level, personally speaking of course, I've noticed that Raw till 4 is A LOT easier of a lifestyle for me to live by versus 100% raw. For me it makes more sense long term, because your spectrum of food choices opens up dramatically. Now, I would never ever put down 100% raw, because that's what got me to where I'm at today, and I would never want to discourage anyone from doing it..But, I do notice that many people have a very difficult time with it. I say give Raw till 4 a little more of a fighting chance and see if you start seeing the results that your looking for. Maybe give it a few weeks or a month and see how it goes. But then again, if your heart is dead set on going 100% all in with the 100% raw route, I think that's awesome! As far as your vid request, I just might do that :)

J.R. Monesmith Thank you, I think I want to do raw for weight loss and raw till 4 for maintenance...I've been playing around with both on and off for these 7 months and also was eating vegan junk food too. But I notice when I eat raw I lose wt and when it's mostly cooked I don't lose wt. Same calorie amounts. Sooo, starting 100% raw today and going to use exercise starting today too! Your story gives me a lot of hope and inspiration and the desire to just go for it. Thanks!

Awesome video. I was wondering if you consumed pasteurized juice, dried fruit, and nuts and seeds when you were on your weight loss journey. And if so, how much of them did you eat? I know it's best to have fresh fruits and vegetables and to limit overt fats but I'm just curious what you did and your thoughts on this
@j.r.770310 жыл бұрын
Kelsey Rawlings Hi Kelsey. First and foremost, thank you for your comment!Second, as far as what I ate during my weight loss journey when I was eating HCRV I consumed no pasteurized juice, and I did eat dried fruit like figs, dates, and raisins and LOTS of them. Dates were a huge staple in my diet. And sometimes they still are. As far as nuts and seeds, I didn't really eat any at all. I honestly didn't have very many overt fats. Not even avocados, coconut, or durian. Pretty much avoided them. The lower the fat and higher the carb I ate, the more weight I lost. I kept my fat intake under 5% pretty much throughout the whole duration of my 10 months weight loss. You can find out more information about what I ate and more of the specifics in my video "What I ate on my HCRV weight loss journey". I hope this helps :)

today is my day 1. I had a bit of yogurt... but I have a no replenish rule so once its gone its gone. i had banana strawberry bowl with a bit of yogurt and honey. TWO of them! four bananas and a pound of strawberries. and after that I was def full. One thing is I am giving up grains as much as possible. This is my 2nd time... my first I tried juicing and raw.. but after a month couldnt go on. now i'm doing raw till 4 with juicing as supplementing leafy green nutrition, not for meals. My big need is... for my non raw meals. I need suggestions that are non grain. maybe some beany soups, baked potato (but what do you put on it! ketchup?)
@j.r.770310 жыл бұрын
giavelli report As far as non grain cooked foods, one of my staples since transitioning to Raw till 4 is chopped up boiled potatoes. Great carb source, naturally low in fat, low in sodium, and very filling. As far as what to put on them, well, there's many different options and variations...but I usually just throw black beans, cooked vegetables (asparagus or peas) in there with some seasoning and call it good. I keep most of my meals pretty simple. I'm glad to hear that you're giving it another go. That's one thing that I need to do...eat more leafy greens and juice more. Thanks for your comment!

Can't wait to see you after all the loose skin is removed! You'll probably loose 5-10 pounds with the extra skin gone? Maybe you'll get a six pack! Go nuts and reach the peak....5% body fat!
@j.r.770310 жыл бұрын
raw food slamming Yeah 5-10 is what the doctor what saying. Which is weird, because the doctor that I had originally talked to way back when had estimated somewhere in the neighborhood of around 15-20 lbs of skin. Who knows? I guess I'll find out eventually. A six pack would definitely be awesome, but for now I just want to feel comfortable in my own skin. Thank you for the comment!

Daniel L Dang man, you'd school me. Great vid! Honestly speaking, I have to admit Daniel, I've never deadlifted once in my life. Next time I work lower back and hamstrings I'll give it a whirl. As far as a workout vid, I got a friend of mine that I work out with regularly, and him and I have been talking/bouncing ideas off of one another for a cool vid. I got one coming later on down the road for sure. I'm gonna show all these vegan bashers that you don't need to eat meat to lift heavy, gain muscle, and keep up with the rest of the crowd.

well if you dont dead, thats cool, you must squat though? but whatever is your fav lift, throw down the challenege and i'll see if i can match it (if i have the equipment in my house to do it), anyway, look forward to whatever vids you got coming! :)
