This is part 2 of the thrift shop VCR repair video. The music is copy right claimed so I had to remove the video clip from the original repair video.
This video looks to be from around 1991.
The VCR/DVD burner used is a Model DMR-EZ48V

Great quality ! you can sell it for $400 or more, or keep it, these devices get extinct… Maybe also to be used as passthrough device for any capture device, without the need of TBC...

@@xavierzander4201 I'm actually using now for the A/V input. My Vizio TV's won't work with a 240 signal. So I have the N64 passing through and using the HDMI VCR out to go to the Vizio.

@@jeffescortlx wauw ! this actualy a wonder machine ? it also converts 240 lines to 480 ? what i think is that it digitized the signal first, and does this all in real time… to the HDMI output, don't sell this EZ48V for any price…. because it's rare anyway…👍 and has many uses.. and…. this is a NTSC region model ? btw if the component output also does VHS output as passthrough in progressive mode it has an extra feature :)

Man, this is high level vintage dorkery. I'm having Vietnam flashbacks to being a kid, unable to attend school when I was sick, going to work with my dad in the cubicle farms at Digital Equipment.

Don't know if the duplication is low bitrate or if that's just KZbin's aggressive compression, but quality wise (colors, sharpness, black levels), it looks fantastic.

From small tests on old VHS tapes and digital capture, it seems that huge image quality loss comes from the cables themself. So, no cables (or digital data transfer) is already a huge win.

@@jeffescortlx It's no surprise to me - *all* DVD- and DVD/HDD-recorders by Panasonic are famous among video enthusiasts for their qualities when it comes to digitizing VHS. Although as a power user you wouldn't record to DVD but use it in passthrough to a capture device.

@@jeffescortlx To be fair, this tape has probably seen a lot less viewing time than most of its siblings, so less wear and tear...

We still had typewriters in typing class when I was in the 9th grade. We were supposed to make some ascii art by following a big tedious wall of instructions in the book. It was just as fun as it sounds.

I have ripped this video to my walkman and will be listening to the music royalty-free. I'm an outlaw and I don't care. If you see a guy dressed like the hamburglar, wearing headphones and playing air trumpet - you'll know where I got my tunes.

This is great you can now convert these educational tapes to digital and post them all on KZbin so future generations to have all the information on this computer program. Jokes aside the video on the repair of the VCR/DVD converter was really cool. But I’m still confused on how I stumbled on these videos while searching for a video on how to do a repair on a 2020 Acura MDX doesn’t seem relevant to my search but I glad I found an odd and interesting rabbit hole to go down. 😂

Might be a little bit older, at 3:43 the software copyright is 1982-1993. But if it took them some time to film and distribute it would probably seen in 1994.

Outstanding work! 0:53 Doug Stewart: _"Professional ACTOR!"_ I shouldn't laugh... that was me in 1991. If I had a dollar for every naptime video like this one I've had to sit through, I'd probably have enough by now (through the magic of compond interest!) to purchase a DMR-EZ48V on EvilBay.
