I have lived in Jodhpur for a couple of years (2017-2019) and I was thinking that it seems quite expensive in Jaipur as compared to Jodhpur. In Jodhpur mava kachori was Rs 20-30 in most places in 2019 and at some carts in old city, you could even get for 10. Pyaz kachori could be had for as little as Rs 5 from carts and then of course much higher depending on the place. Then the person you interviewed you clarified that. So in Jodhpur, these are basic popular nashta while in Jaipur they are a specialty from Jodhpur. And you are right the deserts in Rajasthan are sweeter. I am from Gurgaon and noticed the same in Jodhpur. But the quality of raw material in Jodhpur, milk, vegetables, fruits, meat, even wheat and bajra is excellent. Rabri is to die for in Jodhpur. The bajra atta we bought in Jodhpur was sweet and fragrant and could never get the same in Gurgaon. Vegetables were much more flavourful. We used to buy juicy and sweet anar (pomegranate) for Rs 30/kilo till 2019 in Jodhpur. Can't imagine that price in Gurgaon.

Jaipur is my 2nd home .. Lived there for 4 years and abhi bhi aana jana laga rahta hai (did grad) and I can tell you it is one of the best cities in India with beautiful people .... Now coming back to the Kachori thing.. I know Rawat is a brand has been there for ages but the thing is Kachori toh shan hai Rajasthan ki and if you really want the raw taste then go to any random thadi instead of these high profile shops ...jo taste waha milega yahan Nahi milega .. Rawat Sweets is overhyped. So is the taste. If you want to have authentic pyaaz kachori and ghewar, please go to Janta Sweets and Jodhpur Sweets in Jodhpur. I have not had better ghewar than theirs! Maybe Haldirams but there is nothing like them. Trust me you wont be dissapointed. As a matter of fact, you go to any shop in and around Jodhpur to have pyaaz kachori, its an absolute treat!!!
