So much controversy in these comments... Of course, I understand that John is making a commission or a cut selling all these juicers and can't be 100% neutral but his videos are his honest opinion and he's giving lots of precious information... I did own the Green Star Elite, and I'm sorry to say that being plastic, it's not as much a tank as many would believe... and the small little hole to feed the produce is pretty annoying... Make your research and look online... Personally, I also did own a Norwalk juicer and sold it once the Pure was release... I know the owner of the Pure juicer, he was repairing and fixing Norwalk for years and told them to change their Norwalk and improve which they never wanted to do and never consider until David invented the Pure juicer, then when they saw some competition, Norwalk decided to make a few improvement on their own... Both juicers are made in China, no surprise there... They only make some final touch in USA so they could say it's from USA... Don't be fool by that either... I know own a Pure juicer that I really love especially when I'm making 20 to 40 liters (5 to 10 gallons) of juice for a cleanse or reboot... My only favorite everyday juicer is the Super Angel Juicer just because it's all made of Food Grade or Medical Grade Stainless Steel and takes less then 2 minutes to clean... John doesn't talk about the Super Angel because he had issue with them... I bought my Super Angel several years ago, they are awesome people, great company and I reach out to them several times and they have been extra helpful... I'm sorry John had issue with them... Maybe their commission was too small or they didn't want him to sell their juicer; who knows??? It's between John and them... but as for us, end user customers, you must know the truth...

2 stage juicers don't take as long as it seems. It just sounds long because its 2 steps. In fact, a 2 stage juicer is either just as fast or faster than using a twin gear juicer. An added step doesn't necessarily mean more work. When choosing between a 2 stage and a twin gear most people don't realize these factors 1. Twin gear juicers juice slow. 2 stage juicers can handle a faster feed rate. 2. More prep time is needed to cut produce to fit the feed tube in twin gears. 3. 2 stage juicer cloths are only rinsed off and stored in the freezer. Not longer but probably faster than it takes to clean the twin gear screen. 4. Parts in the Norwalk/Pure are Stainless steel (except the pusher) and easy to clean or put in the dishwasher (including the plastic pusher). Probably the same time it takes for twin gear parts. 5. It also helps to stand in front of the 2 stage juicer when operating it. Standing behind is good for demonstrating how the machine works but makes it seem a lot more tedious. There is a learning curve but if you watch experienced Norwalk/Pure users juicer real time you'll see the difference. Do a KZbin search. 6. Overpacking cloths, like in this demonstration, reduces yields and waste time due the need to re-press. 7. No strainer needed if you want pulp free juice. The pressing and straining is done at the same time. The hardest part about juicing is getting started, then cleaning and preparing the vegetables, and the cleanup. The juicing itself is the fun part. Most of the time spent may have nothing to do with the type of juicer you have. Thanks John. Great video. Just had to add my 2 cents.

Hi John, as usual you're awesome! And your videos are so great, and you give not only great information about the juicers but also on juicing in general... I had the Green Star Elite Twin Gear and did really loved it... But frankly, I tried after the Super Angel Juicer which I belive was far superior to the Green Star Elite Twin Gear... I also own a Pure Juice (and did own a Norwalk prior). I love my Pure Juicer when I have to make large batch of juices, but my #1 favorite for juice quality and speed of cleaning and processing is the Super Angel... You should do a video about Super Angel Juicer vs Pure Juicer someday ;-) Thanks again!

Due to legal reasons, all I can say is that we do not sell it and I do not recommend it which is due to past business dealings with the manufacturer. We do not offer products from companies that are "not on the level" and may leave the customer (or us) high-and-dry in the future.

DiscountJuicers.com : I understand where you coming from... personally I owned 2 Super Angels and I dealt directly with them for several reasons and they have been awesome and very generous of their time, efforts and service... same with Pure juicer, the best ever customer service... I’m sorry you had issue with Super Angel company... I really do appreciate all your video

Surprising results John ! Would be useful to see the results with the substantially cheaper solostar 4 vs the press with this combination of fruits, vegetables and greens.

I have been juicing for a few years now thanks to you I bought the right juicer. I have the Omega 8004 and love it. The Pure press is a pain to use and cleanup vs the Omega 8004 . Who would want that to use every day.

Hey John, thanks for the reply, I'll buy a new one instead of the refurbished. My main focus is green juice. Leafy greens mostly with some hard veggies and fruit (celery, cucumber, apples, grapes, carrot, etc). I'm new to juicing and after watching many videos (mostly yours), I'm stuck between the Omega NC800/NC900 and the VSJ843Q. I liked that vertical juicer challenge you did. I would consider the Tribest Slowstar as well, but I'm willing to cut the hard veggies into smaller chunks. Plus, less clean up and higher yield makes sense. Would you say the VSJ843Q is the right one for me doing mostly green juices? Thanks John.

I personally never like to recommend a vertical juicer for juicing "mostly" greens juices, as they can be problematic with jamming unless you are really careful and have a properly balanced juice. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWe0pWemfKh8atE for further details. Generally Horizontal machines such as the NC800 are much more depenable and hassle-free when juicing mostly leafy greens.

Excellent, informative and entertaining as always! I love your juice-offs!! Any chance you could do a juice-off between the new Kuvings 7000 Whole Juicer and the Green Star Elite? I'm on the fence. I like that I can juice whole fruits and veggies and save on cutting/prep time with the Kuvings (I juice everyday ... mainly Carrots, Apples, Pears, and a bit of Ginger) .... but ..... I love the magnets and far-infrared of the Green Star (which I believe produces a really top quality juice). I can't decide! Ugh. John, a juice-off and your opinion would be fantastic!! :) Thanks for considering!

here is a video I made with the green star and kuvings whole slow juicer: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bambfKFnhKyKaNk Each of the machines have their own pros and cons. It depends on what you want in a juicer. IF you are juicing more fruit, then the kuvings would likely be better, but if your juicing more hard root vegetables, the GSE would better in terms of yield. I will try to put that comparison on my "list to do"

Thank you! I already watch that video and as I said I did own a Norwalk for many years until I found the Pure - I sold my NORWALK at great low price to a juicer friend and bought the Pure from my friend and owner David - one of their first unit

I should just give up on the Kuvings Vacuum Blender, shouldn't I? When I see you have posted a new video, my heart is filled with hope and joy, only to be cast into utter despair. Okay, change of subject. The hyperlinked index on the long vids is a very nice touch.

Hey John, I was wondering will you be offering the new Nutramilk soon? I've noticed it's available right now on the Brewista website, but I really want to buy from you if I can because I love the videos you make and all of the work that you do and I want to support you, thanks!

Hopefully within the next two weeks. I need to test it first before we start to offer it. I will make a video about it when im able.

Ok, good point... I shall wait until it receives your seal of approval before making a purchase. If I might make a suggestion on the review, I'd like to hear why or why not it is ok to not soak the nuts before using it in the machine compared to other methods of making nut milk...

Norwalk is a great juicer no pulp . But I'm thinking about the green star as the Norwalk takes so long

Oh, random question: Do you have any thoughts or comments on Juicero biting the dust? It seemed to me that it was something that just had to happen.

Doesnt surprise me. The business model was flawed. I told them this. they should have made it so you didnt have to purchase their packs, and you could fill your own.

Hey John, Is it ok to buy a refurbished Omega NC800 ? I take a chance and don't have the 15 year warranty? Thanks
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 7 жыл бұрын
Depends. I personally would purchase a new model to get the full 15 year warranty. There is a high probabilty that the machine will break more than one screen during the warranty period, so it would be a good move to get a new machine to get a longer warranty. If you dont have the money, the refurb machines are still better than a high speed ejection juicer.

I think you over packed the cloth. Overpacking will negatively effect yields. I would have been better to use 3 cloths.
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 7 жыл бұрын
That's highly probable. I was not able to see that it blew out when I initially took the press clothes out.. I have not used press style juicers that often, and care should be taken when loading up and juicing with them.

I know you tried your best to be unbiased but its hard to demonstrate the 2 stage juicer correctly due to the learning curve and knowledge of the techniques. But you're still the best.
