@Ernest George Setting the bar pretty low for "successful" aren't you? I will give Danica credit where it's due. She was a marketing machine. But if we are talking about as a driver, I think saying she is a successful female driver does a huge disservice to women. By putting her on that pedestal, you imply Danica is the exception rather than the norm, and in this case, you imply even that exception is pretty lackluster
@limprooster32533 жыл бұрын
@Ernest George That escalated quickly... Someone doesn't like their idea's being challenged I take it? The "can you do better?" argument is merely a fallacy. For one, I know I can't. Unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with the money it would require to get into professional racing. So no, I seriously doubt I was born with enough raw talent to out race someone who literally grew up racing. For another, it's entirely possible neither of us have any talent. So what good does that point make? At least I didn't resort to swearing though. But it does beg the question: What racing experience do you have? My point remains the same: Danica was excellent at marketing. She managed to use that gift to maintain a professional stock car racing career for several years. However, comparing that career to her peers does not bode well for Danica. Among drivers who truly were talented, Danica was sub-par at best, and that is even if you acknowledge her semi-successful open wheel career. But to take even that success and label that as "the most successful female driver of all time" as if that is some sort of unheard of achievement... That really says more about you than Danica. Women in racing are capable of so much more than what Danica accomplished. It's okay if you are a fan of Danica. She was definitely a personality. But don't confuse that for success

@@Qardo you're not understanding my point. I'm all for safety hell that's why earnhardt died. NASCAR used to be the most popular american made sport now it's one of the least watched. It's so sad to see how they've ruined it. NASCAR has been around 73 years and only 28 racers have been killed in an accident each accident being at least 1 year apart from each other IN THE 50's! Difference is, a Nascar driver would spin in an F1 car at every turn, probably. F1 is 1000x harder than Nascar. I don't like Mazepin either, but he is doing what you and I and probably anyone reading this comment could not pull off if put in an F1 car, not even close.

@@DjMarkMartin I'm not saying he's bad, btw. I've seen him in F2 and imo he's a pretty solid midfielder. Thing is, his car is absolute dogshit. Even Mick is struggling to drive that car. They gonna need a 2005 US GP type of situation if they even thinking of winning, even if they nail the next year's regulation i doubt they can rack up many wins.
@DjMarkMartin3 жыл бұрын
@@kami_narisama Yeah he is probably not going to be a Champion or even a GP winner, even if he was put in a competitive car, but the car he is currently driving is dogshit. Although let's be fair, he has only raced 9 races in F1 so far, there are very few F1 drivers who won a GP in their first year even. And probably none that won with an inferior car. Verstappen 23, Schumacher 18, Senna 18. The only big name driver I could find under 10 is Hamilton, who won his first GP on his 6th race in F1, although, he did start his F1 career with a good car, unlike the others who started with junior teams and average cars and teams.
