I know this is a video you made a while ago but some how Im just now seeing it, I thought I had binge watched the majority of your old vids. But man this is great! One of the best, if not THE BEST history/recap of NASCAR throughout the years and you hit every major event driver team tragedy safety changes or wins. And the presentation makes you feel like you’re on a ride with them through time.

@48:05 though I’m not quite sure how ling his spot in the video is and what all will be said, but I’m sure glad he included Mark Martin in the video. Growing up until I was about 8 or 9 (1999-2000) I was always a Jeff Gordon fan for some reason, other than all of my friends and people I watched NASCAR with disliking him so much and always hating on him ( I only say it that way cause I was the only one out my grandpa, dad, and I who liked him. My dad was always a Bill Elliot fan and my grandpa just like racing and never really just had a particular favorite now that I think about it). But as I got older and started to really pay attention to the sport and started to just get more and more into NASCAR and not being the typical kid just following whoever was popular and “the best” and quit riding the bandwagon, I learned about Mark Martin, and I just loved how he raced and how he was more of the, “let’s go out there and just really race and see whose better and who’s car is better instead of all that wrecking each other, and the fact he just always seemed like such a genuinely great guy. And it’s always saddened me he always got so close to winning a Series Championship but never could quite get it for some reason. In my opinion and I’m sure a lot of others, he is by far the best driver to never win a Championship. But yeah, he was and always will be my favorite, which is crazy cause now my favorite driver is someone, who in my opinion is the exact opposite of Mark when it comes to how he races and his attitude, and that’s Kyle Busch surprisingly lol. And I say surprisingly cause for the longest time I couldn’t stand Kyle or his fans, nor could I ever understand why anyone ever liked him. Heck when I was rooting for Mark, there was only 5 other drivers I ever pulled for at all, thosebeing Carl Edwards cause I just though for sure he was going to end up being what Jimmy Johnson ended up being, The best, and the other 3 were Dale Jr cause I mean he is freaking Jr, Clint Bowyer cause he was a jokester and was hilarious, but didn’t take any bs on the track, Matt Kenseth cause I always thought he was criminally underrated for someone who was always in the top5/10 and win a series with only 1 win, but had like 30 top 10s and 11 top 5s, amd finally Tony Stewart cause he’s just Smoke, he don’t play no games, he’s hilarious like Clint, but in another way lol, and if you pushed him on or off the track, he was pushing you back lol. But none of them could ever take Mark’s spot as #1! And tbh, he was literally the Brett Favre of NASCAR. From 1988 to freaking 2006 he started every single race, well from what it says when I looked up his “stats” on the internet a bit ago. And that in itself deserves acknowledgment, not even accounting for the fact he come in 2nd what, 5 freaking times, 4 of them being with Rousch? I think that’s what I read earlier. And that 2009 season with The #5 Hendricks Kelloggs car was one of the ages if it just hadn’t been for Jimmie lol. But yeah, he was such a class act, everyone respected and loved him, and he was again, by far the best driver to never win a Series Champ sadly. But yeah, I don’t think you could’ve found a better driver to represent the sport or ti be the face of the sport cause of how great of a human he always seemed to be. But yea, Ik this is super long winded, but it’s just nice to see someone mention Mark, and tho I haven’t seen a bit of it he’s said yet cause I always pause the video when making a comment cause I’m ADHD and it’s impossible to pay attention to the video while typing lmao. Anyway, if you could think of anyone else better than Mark to never win a Championship, I’d sure love to know who he was lol. And again, the other thing, like I said that differs from the other guys I liked and my favorite driver today, is that he was a clean racer and wanted to win the clean way, which was let the cars, the skill, and the speed do the talking instead of trying to wreck or just bump/move you out the way. Always such a class act and a great driver all around.

It’s possible but from what I’ve learned recently it was common in the earlier days for singers to write songs about the top drivers. Dale Earnhardt had a song Richard Petty has a song there’s a song about the first stars of the sport and a song just for the love of super speedways

While this is possibly one of the most encompassing NASCAR videos to be put on KZbin ever I do have a few gripes with it. It could've been slightly longer so that a few more events could've been in the spotlight. The current younger drivers, Fireball Robert's 1964 Charlotte accident, and even a mention of the decline of the sport. Its potential future could've been profiled. There are specific events that I think could've made this video a hella lot more complete. But with that said, I guess that's why the NASCAR KZbin community exists. To show the great, the good, the bad, and outright ugly of NASCAR that's taken place over the course of 71 years. All of us grew up in the 2000s and 2010s, and while it is limited the video really does gear you up for the next chapter of the sport, the 2020s. That's when a few of the KZbinrs here will get their big break and finally etch their way into television or mass media covering NASCAR. People like me and many others could fulfill the dream of being a racecar driver. And then there are the next generation of fans, KZbinrs, and drivers, waiting in the wings, to put on a modern twist to a sport that has evolved over time. This video is a great entry point for any new fan coming in. It's great for longtime fans like me. It's a great showcase for the sport we all love. While us as fans have given NASCAR a lot of grief for their decisions, and rightly so in some cases, we love the sport as much as they do. It's a love/hate affair, but I think we can all agree on one thing: NASCAR has truly changed all of our lives in one way or another. Don't you think?

“…something the working man can relate to…” Well, over time… THAT has certainly disappeared… along with many former fans. The money greed has consumed too many facets that made it desirable to follow. The small tracks gone… “super (boring) speedways” took their dates… the personalities were tempered to a mumble… the somewhat stock looking cars… have become a blur, with only a minimum of brands backing them. Perhaps a victim of its need to grow… I’ve lost too much of what I can “relate to”… and no longer attend, follow or watch. “It WAS a good run…”

NASCAR is like a relationship, there's good moments and bad moments. LOVE THIS MOVIE! If NASCAR is trying to be great and be a RACING SERIES again, here's the list: - Get rid of stage racing and playoffs FOR GOOD! - Bring back FASTER horsepowers, get rid of side force, splitters, and useless aero shit. - Get rid of the crash clock - More short tracks and road courses - Every race track should be raced once a year (except Daytona, Talladega, Bristol, Martinsville, etc) - Bring back Daytona as a 4th of July weekend race - Some weekday races sound good - Keep Eldora in Trucks, Cup should have a dirt race (exhibition or points) and same with Xfinity - Get rid of BS penalties and rules - Season Finale races should be held at different tracks every year Etc... Hmmmm.... I don't know what else to add. If you guys wanna add something you'd like to see in NASCAR, go for it! I'd like to know :) P.S., NASCAR should be a RACING SPORT and not a ball sport. Thanks Brian France, this sport is a ball sport thanks to stage racing and the shit format. I REALLY hope those are gone ASAP. But in the end, I am still a NASCAR and racing fan and I have no regrets. I am hoping NASCAR goes back to an actual racing series and not a ball sport or entertaining fake show for show seeker non-real NASCAR fans.

Its crazy, when you seen Dale sr's worst crashes, the one that killed him looked like nothing. I honestly couldn't believe it when I seen that crash and he died. Took me over 20 years to watch NASCAR again. Edit: I have sympathy for Dale Jr, but Dale Sr's father also died, the only difference it Dale Sr wanted to prove to himself, and his late father, that he could be one of the best. I expected Dale Jr to carry that same determination but it was almost as if he jus gave up and didn't wanna race anymore. I'm not gunna lie, I don't know what I would do if I lost my dad so I really can't speak about Dale Jr. I jus really wanted Dale Jr to follow his dad and grandfather's footsteps and win another 7 championships in memory of his father.
