South Africa have used the same game plan before but with a former bok as coach they played with greater passion and intensity. To beat NZ, reach a higher level and hope NZ dont play up to their best, both of these things occured.

Wow the understanding and ambiguity that you show towards this game is amazing, that drop goal was there and when having two of the best players in the world (Beauden Barret and Damien McKenzie) There is no doubt nor clear reason of why the drop goal was not the first option.

I suppose the decision lies with the captain I heard him in the after game press conference that he and the boys made the decision to continue the assault on the line which ultimately lost them the game you could also put it down to Barretts wayward place kicking but in the end Hansen said we lost because we conceded 36 points I suppose you can't argue with that but I still can't help feeling bitterly disappointed in their decision.

i believe its because the ABs are a process driven team, and their process was to score a try to win that game. Their ability to change the process under pressure failed them on that occasion when everybody knew the drop kick was on. That being said, it strikes me as very weird that with all that test experience on the field that chance wasn't taken..

For all Beaudan Barrett's amazing qualities, his goal kicking is absolutely shit & cost ABs the game tonight! A lot of those kicks weren't even that hard for professional kicking standards, it'a not like mpst of those kicls hie missed were from right i the corner! Barrett has been a shit goal kicler for ages but hasn't cost Nz any matches till tonight. This should be a stark reminder to ABs selectors they need to start bloodying another goal kicker. In a tight match in next year's world like world cup semi against Sth Africa in last world cup, Dan Carter's reliable boot ultimately won Nz that tight semi. In a close match, for all Barret's running brilliance, he is too much of a liability as a goal kicker to rely on in close high pressure sudden death matches such as a world. cup semi. Let Jordie Barret take the goals, yeah he one shocking brain snap tonight that cost Nz a try,but he is SO much more reliable & accurate than Beaudan as a goal kicker
@hellovanite5 жыл бұрын
Yes and no I would argue if not for a couple of uncharacteristically silly passes thecgoal kicking would not have been a factor. I mean we all know Beauden is average at best when it comes to place kicks. It's not really an issue when you score through tries. We lost move on can't win em all
@kardiminic5 жыл бұрын
hellovanite but you can always argue its other mistakes that cost the game, and youd be right too. Its a combination id say. Same thing happened in the 3rd lions test last summer, better kicking would've won them the game
@hellovanite5 жыл бұрын
@@kardiminic i still think the all blacks were robbed of a penalty in that third Lions test to win the game. But yep there are loads of reasons. I don't have a problem with them losing one I mean you just cannot win them all. The thing that grates us how all these so called experts start calling out cracks after one game. I dunno it's almost desperate its not like they were handed they're arses and SA were pretty dire in the last 20 just holding on more than anything else. Congrats on the heart they showed but that was mostly all it was, heart. It will take more than that to win consistently. Let's just move onto the next game.
@kardiminic5 жыл бұрын
that 3rd test penalty will be discussed for a long time, was the ball played intentionally from an offside position? was the blacks offside at the kickoff? was it even forward? lots of things that a up for debate. I definetely agree that experts should hold off passing judgement, but we all know they never will.
@hellovanite5 жыл бұрын
@@kardiminic Yep can't disagree with that. It's in the books now. The thing is just for arguments sake, why did the ref call it a penalty then change his mind after the touch judge intejected and said maybe just a scrum. Which conceeds that there was an infringement no argument was given for any other infringement like offside at the kickoff other than as justification by fans after the fact. Doesn't matter if it was intentional or not its a penalty especially when you put your hands in the air after playing the ball and sheepishly make your way back onside like you know you've fukd up. It was a pivotal moment at the end of the match. I have seen incidents like that before but I have never seen a ref do what that French guy did and down grade it. Anyway that was just for arguments sake. It's done and dusted now and that's that. I don't mind this loss and especially dont mind it being SA they are overdue some success and if history is anything to go by usual a loss has a positive effect on the ABs.

Doesent mean anything why?. One loss and all of a sudden NZ are being grilled, lol. No, we know what went wrong and I am sure the All-Blacks will improve, they need too as they have 5 horrid games away against probably the Worlds toughest 5 sides currently. It is hard to see NZ winning all of the remaining games this year in all honesty. Anyone who knows about rugby will agree that NZ are still a way ahead, but have a problem at no10 I feel. Game management also needs sorting out and basics need to be brought back, because when NZ play basics, no one can match them, period. But it is this media hype that NZ have all of a sudden just dropped off a cliff which pisses me off. No NZ have not fallen off a cliff and anyone thinking NZ are all of a sudden just going to flop like say England would or Wales would, are gravely mistaken. So the press and media, STFU you are giving people false hopes against what is likely to be a major All-Blacks bashlash on those Jaffa boys in Pretoria in a few weeks. Ultimately though as a Kiwi, all I care about is not seeing NZ lose to Ireland and especially England as this would be a very, very low point for NZ rugby, if this happens this year alongside the loss to SA. But this could happen, this very scenario and the Kiwi will never hear the end of it as the media has a thing about trying to put NZ down. Dumb arse twattish media.

The reality is the Boks were that close to being on the losing side yet every body being doom n gloom. So yeah get over it, move on.
