Agreed regarding sorcs. season 5 is a pass for me pending any earth shattering unique and legendaries. Chain lighting might have gotten a buff but like ball lighting and frozen orb before it, will be nearfed before season 5 if people are enjoying it on PTR. Otherwise the top 4 builds all got nerfs.Honestly at this point if I’m here for the xpac campaign and after I complete that I’m done with the game (again unless they have some crazy changes between now and xpac relase).

Yea, most Necro, esp Shadow, builds straight up lost 70% of their damage. Aside from Bone Spirit, Necro is pretty deleted.

Totally missed the mark on the druid changes here Raxx. Thunderstruck got capped at 40%. This was at least 200% for any serious endgame druid build running storm skills (so everything except pulverize). The loss of shepards + stampede was 180% multiplicative damage, the replacement aspects are on the order of 25% or highly conditional, for 40-55%, and the skill compensations were all 85%. So the builds like pulverize and shred that used only shepards and stampede lost a little bit of damage (round 15% or so), and the storm builds (wind shear, tornado, lightning storm, and hurricane) lost more like 65% of their overall damage. On the class that was struggling the most for damage. Druids are complete garbage tier with these changes and that needs to be absolutely drilled into the dev's minds this PTR cycle.

For Druid they failed to properly redistribute the power that was removed from Shepard/stampede and uncapped thunderstruck. They should have capped but increased both earthen devastation and thunderstruck to 60% perhaps. And the skill damage increases don’t make up for the 180% Shepard’s loss. So net nerf. Similar is happening with necro with multiple builds seeing 33-69% net nerfs per macrobioboi because devs don’t understand how builds use blight. They’re nerfing the fun out of sorc based on a build that 1% of the community is playing that takes hours and hours of game time and massive amounts of gold to gear. The nerf impacts many sorc builds where the flame shield nerf I think is enough. It’s seems like again they using a sledgehammer when only a chisel is required or maybe they don’t know the mechanics of their game so well. The flame shield effect nerf kills the 1% of the community build. The CDR nerfs on focus, teleport kills the fun out of many builds which they said they’d avoid doing. In general there focus was to nerf bugged builds but now they’re doing CDR nerf for a 1% build that takes massive amount of game time to gear for. This feels like a season 1 style nerf which they said they’d never do. Another fun killer patch!!!

The fact that the developers called out the accessibility for completely blind players and partially blind players, particularly about the navigation assistant and the compass and whatever else, it's a giant deal for me and seemingly a lot of the blind population agrees that is just great. Within a year of this game coming out we've had a tremendous amount of effort and work put into the accessibility for disabled players to be able to play the game more effectively. At launch. All we had was the screen reading functionality, of which it was like 70% good with a couple things not read perfectly, and since then the screen reader now reads. I think every menu in the game now, hell when season 4 launched, the master working and tempering menus were not that accessible. But then they buffed the reader to read everything. Not to mention sound effects for the traversal spots like ducking or jumping or whatever, there's just so much that I have to commend them for

I am not completely blind, but I also appreciate how large the fonts are in general, especially compared to many other arpgs, like grim dawn, lost epoch, etc. That alone makes me root for Diablo 4 a lot. Also, the changes in season 4 about not having to read items that much (as opposed to having to stare at every yellow item) also made this much easier on my eyes.

Druid got a net nerf. Not only was Shephard removed, but the buffs didn't fully compensate. Then on top of that the capped the thunderstruck multiplier to 40% where as before it could reach 120% or higher. So druid was double nerfed

I really want to know who’s in charge of handling sorc because man they are not in the same headspace as everyone else. Throughout the games history, sorc has really only seen marginal buffs combined with brutal nerfs. When they actually get something that puts them at the top it’s gutted immediately. It’s like they dont get why people put sorc at the bottom tier all the time. They need more 1) single target damage. This might happen with chain lightning but I doubt it. 2) survivability. There’s nothing here that helps that. You can’t rely on Ubers to live. Sorc does NOT NEED more AoE clear. That’s the only thing they’re good at. They suffer in the endgame when enemies get spongey.

Druid looks to have some decent buffs and I'm excited to try it. But I don't think it's going to compensate for what it lost and will be overall less powerful than even now. But dear god... the sorceress is a joke. They nerfed teleport, flame shield, blizzard ice spikes, cooldown reduction, and a few other things. And "improved" the overall damage with a tickle. It's going to be so laughably bad.

You forgot Teleport nerf and removal of CDR from offhands. Nerfs pretty much every current Sorc build more than these buffs. Also think they changed Vyr's to all damage in the mid season patch, so think it's only changing the mechanic and now you actually have to crit something to get any defence, which is pretty iffy, but 5 secs should be enough for 100% uptime. Overall apart from Chain Lightning looking absolutely cracked and possibly Arc Lash getting a lot with actually getting a temper now and a lot of shock skills got a buffs to their passive effects, so think it's rather easy to get 100% crit now during Unstable currents.

And yeah they didn't remove the affix roll chance, they removed the guaranteed implicit which nerfs every sorc player. CDR is by far the best stat for Sorcs in general and since launch all they've done is reduced it and Sorc has suffered in result.

Necros are the most squishy and slowest class in the game and instead of buffs we get nerfs. Meantime barbs get massive buffs. Then they got massive nerfs in the actual season. Then they never competed with any barbs rogues or necros. Sorcs actually got fucked because of the ptr

​​​​​​​@@dominotetris an extra enchant wont be enough and realistically what can you add as an enchant to all the meta builds as the 3rd enchantment when youre pigeonholed into using 4 defensives, ice blades and your core? Not only that, even if you try to go outside the meta, to even make the enchantment impactful you need to invest skill points into it as well as aspects and tempers which is impossible in its current state. Sorcs would effectively need more skill points to even make this playstyle effective but alas we are hard capped on skill points at lvl 50. Youll likely just run firebolt, ice blades then a random enchant depending on your build or teleport but that doesnt anything to your DPS.

I just want them to fix the issues with Sorc teleport. And I’m going to continue to post it everywhere until they fix it or the more likely solution is I just quit the game. The issue: Unstoppable granted on fears, but not hard CC. They want to fix Vyr’s Mastery (a bug that helps character), but ignore issues that harm player like mine? If my teleport doesn’t make me unstoppable and I get frozen or stunned in higher pit I am dead especially if flame shield is on cooldown. I already have to play kind of risky with the way the incinerate aspect works to maximize damage output. I don’t need a shiny sack of “uniques”. I just want the game to feel good. If they can’t fix it they need to give us a new form of unstoppable without needing an aspect.

@@davidzimmerman617 OHHHH. It is? Maybe read my post. It has been behaving like that for me since I came back this season. It is an issue with CC. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t. You’re able to teleport but nothing else afterwards except evade. I’ve witnessed others deal with the same thing. It is almost behaving like a collision problem except nothing is even near you for that to take place. So if you don’t know what I’m talking about then good for you I guess? Be thankful you don’t have to deal with it. It’s infuriating.

I have level 16 Meteor using Starfall and it takes DOZENS of meteors to kill the maiden on my own while other builds are 1-shotting her and world bosses? The OP builds are having a negative impact on the game by ruining boss fights. So what does Blizzard do? Nerf the sorcerer! Are they seriously adding 3 seconds to the teleport cooldown???? I have +4 teleport on armor, CD on amulet, CD on focus, and yet it still takes over 2.5 seconds to teleport....so they're gonna make it worse?!?!

One thing I miss as a controller player is in D3 you can use the joystick to cycle through items on the ground. That comes in handy in D4 when the obols chest drops right on of the glyph upgrader and you have to move all over the place trying to get the murmur chest to highlight.

Those trousers that let you heal beyond 100% and turn healing by potions or skills into a barrier while also make you find more healing potions... might come in handy on a rogue. I really like how they open up options into many viable builds.

One thing I’m excited for is trying to build a boulder Druid. In the patch notes is stated that the aspect that makes boulder a core skill will no longer remove the “wrath skill” tag. This means that maybe we could launch boulder at 0 spirit cost because of the temper that gives you X spirit when you cast a wrath skill.

god I hope the chain lightning stuff is amazing. Lightning is BY FAR my favorite element in any game. (Lightning focused elemental shaman in WoW, Crack Lance/Arc/any other Lightning skill in PoE, Lightning runemaster in LE, etc lol) So I hope it's amazing and it's the gear we get for free in the new season journey. The best thing about the druid change is that it's not so simple as losing the shepherd damage and buffing the skills. We now have not 1 but 2 additional aspect slots to use something more fun and to get more damage. Lastly, we can remove those 3 companion skills and swap them for utility. My Shred druid next season will be using Howl, Trample, Lacerate, and lastly maybe cyclone armor, but I'm undecided. We have some actual CHOICES now!

I would trade some of the Druid companions aggressiveness for some of the minion damage. My wolves and ravens attack enemies off screen constantly so when I use the wolf active it takes like 3 seconds for them to run back and cast unless I have Storms companion lol.

HOW ABOUT EVERYCLASS HAVING AT LEAST 2 S TIER BUILDS????? My F-Orb sorc 1/2 fuily master worked is 1/3rd as strong as a level 75 barb... 2 Level 100 F-Orb sorcs struggling to kill Helltide summon and then a level 75 barb showed up and basically deleted her !!! Really??? I would love to give Blizz $$$ for cosmetics but FRANKLY... Feeling like the forgotten child doesn't inspire me too AND the Sorc cosmetics look ridiculous... ALL the other class cosmetics look great... Sorc's look like clowns at a masquerade party... Lastly, I got REALLY lucky and got Fractured Wiinter Glass from a NMD chest it's 837 Item Power but cool and it felt great!!! However.. I've now killed Zir 15 times and no FWG.. Without that fantastic bit of luck no way would I be able to play and farm what I've now been farming let alone farm zir.. and yes I tried wasn't going to happen.. This is a problem that the other tuned class don't have.. see example above. I'm not trying to be mean, but these things are really bad!!!

As for Grizzly Rage, The change doesnt truly matter in clearing since you can keep it at 10 sec duration forever now instead of recasting it as often, now for harder content it does definitely suck.

Flurry gunna be NUTS lol. Oh btw with them changing Shepherds and them giving us the damage in skills. We get two opened up legendary slots. We get three opened up skill bar slots, and we are not forced to used a 2 hander now. It frees up so much. It could potentially be more dps and for sure more mobility/utility with the freed up items and skill slots.

I notice on dark shroud that you can only lose a dark shroud once every 1.5 secs. Does that mean we're exposed for that duration after it burns off? Maybe that's the nerf that's pairing up with the heal buffs.

i actually believe that's a buff, if you're getting hit multiple times in a 1.5 second time frame, each of those hits consume 1 singular shroud. this actually allows you to get hit multiple times in a 1.5 second window and only have 1 shroud consumed for all instances of damage during that period. we'll have to see how it plays out, maybe the other instances of damage during the 1st 1.5 second window carry over to the 2nd 1.5 second period and i hope that's not the case. but i initially believed it to be a buff when i first read it and still believe it to be, just so as long as the damage instances don't carry over from window to window.

all i hear is chain lightning will be good as lvling as per usual but its never good as endgame build sadly . Sorcerer needs some single target boss dmg with their builds. i like to play builds that are good in both aoe and single target. not completely suck in one of them and if u go really high in the pit as an example u struggle to kill the boss thats how it goes with my whirlwind twister barb.

Still waiting on them to fix Rupture. For the love of God, it's been broken since Day 1. For those who may be unaware there is a bug where if you cast Rupture and then it fails to kill the target, it actually heals back all the damage - on top of removing the bleeds. It's been driving me nuts that they don't even acknowledge it. I'm loving these patch notes overall, I think Rax missed a few important things though - Arrow Storms & Rain of Arrows are getting big buffs, as are Dash and Shadowstep (like they needed it) to the point where that one aspect that relies on going invisible with Shadowstep might actually be a build now. But one of the biggest things is you can only lose a single shadow every 1.5 seconds now that is MASSIVE because that's always been the biggest problem with Dark Shroud, when you get surrounded you just lose them all too quickly.
