I remember listening to this song as a child of my grandma playing it and singing along while praising the Lord. It's such a powerful song, and now that I actually listen to the lyrics which I feel totally speak of my grandma. Because of her, I know the Lord. Because of her, I praised the Lord and went to church. Because of her prayers, I continued the teaching I learned as a child with my son. It is such a beautiful and powerful song that brings tears to my eyes. Thank you, grandma, for giving to the Lord. I am a life that was changed, and now my sons life will be changed as he learns the word

Ray Boltz never left the faith. A reasonable reading of the Christian Bible finds no fault with homosexual acts between consenting adults of similar social status. Between Slaves and Masters, yes, prohibited. Please keep in mind that the (English language) versions we have of the New Testament are highly problematic, and nobody follows the Old Testament exactly either. If we are to ban homosexual acts because of what's written in the Old Testament then we must also ban wearing clothing of mixed fibres, ban planting different crops in the same field, and a whole host of other things. People could then also use the Bible to justify the capturing and keeping of slaves from neighbouring countries (look out Canada and Mexico, the US is coming for you !) and including allowing Rapists to buy their rape victims for the Bible mandated price of 50 Shekels worth of wheat grain (about $100 in today's money) .Remember that 50 Shekels gets paid to her father for "damage to his property" which is all unwed girls are worth, (in Old Testament Biblical terms). There are whole videos and lectures dealing with the situation regarding how when the RSV translation was being developed in the early 1900's, it was brought to the attention of senior personnel, that the insertion of the word "homosexual" was completely wrong, however for a variety of political reasons at the time, the mistake remained. Since then, other newer English language translations have been based largely on the RSV (and even some foreign language versions being onward translations from the English have repeated that error. The Old and New Testaments combined, as translated into modern English comprises some 31,000 sentences. There are 6 sentences which on a quick read might seem to cast some homosexual actions in a poor light. (However that is misguided, and can be rebutted as translation errors etc). The resulting attitudes and actions of some supposed Christians, has been very damaging to those Christians who are GLBTQi. There are some 4,000 references to the sin of very wealthy people abusing their positions of power and not sharing money and resources with the poor. At that rate, I reckon it's about 650 times more important to God, what we do with our money, than what we do with our Genitals in the privacy of our bedrooms with a consenting adult partner.
