Hello friends,
Welcome to the second installment of my "By Request" video series. Each Tuesday I'll be dropping a new tutorial on a song requested by members of my audience. Request your favorite tune at: Swiftguitar.com....
In this lesson, I'll break down how to play the Ray Charles 1959 classic "What'd I Say." I'll take you through Ray's intro riffs, a fender roads inspired strumming pattern, and some bluesy licks and turnarounds to get you performance ready. Let's get started!

Hello from France, cool melody. Ah Mister Ray Charles, I have heard it quite a bit and once seen in France at a concert when I was 16 years old. Today I'm 42. I hope to play this piece as well as you. Thank you for your tutorials because in France we do not have as many good youtubers talents who take the time to share their passion. The money always money and will always be the world's nerve. In some remote areas of Africa or Asia, they are much happier than us. I say that because I had the opportunity to go to Mozambique, Paraguay, Nepal for a year with a humanitarian aid association. It has been a very good experience to share our knowledge and learn theirs.

+Asael Pagofie Thanks for the warm regards Asael. I should remind you, make sure your instructor knows what you want to learn, and who you want to become as a musician. As a private instructor, I can tell you that the students I enjoy most are those who take the time to form their questions, and are engaged in the learning process. Thanks again for watching. Have fun!

As you're aware, there's no shortage of KZbin guitar teachers. But there are only a few that really stand out, and I certainly put you in that category! At the very top is Brian at Active Melody. But in the field of teaching how to play covers, I definitely put you at the top, with Marty and Justin in the same category. In the cover song field, you have the best voice! I don't mean to slight any of the other teachers, I applaud them for their hard work and great playing. There's certainly no excuse for anyone that wants to learn guitar not learning and progressing! Thanks to all you guys, you're all great players and teachers!

+swiftlessons Ray's songs are keyboard based and therefore you have very little guitar tutorials on KZbin. You translated the key board parts into guitar lick seamlessly and made the song work brilliantly. Would love to see tutorials on I Got A Woman and Hit The Road Jack.! Cheers.
