Lots of you have had questions about the Transatlantic Quilting Cruise I am teaching on this May 2024 with Sewtravelry. So I brought Ray and John on to do a Zoom interview about the logistics and find out how they started their business.
Ray Everston, the Director and Travel Concierge, and John Heinrich, Operations Manager, are both veterans with decades of travel agency experience between them.
They started leading quilting cruises as a way to offer quilting influencers like myself, a way to connect in person with all of you during once-in-a-lifetime travels experiences.

We're traveling May 2-15, 2024 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida across the Atlantic Ocean to Southhampton, England with stops in Azores, Ireland and Belgium. We'll have eight days at sea when we will spend our days in a Quilt Retreat with me and three other fabulous instructors.

I would only go on a Quilting Cruise, if there is actual SEWing onboard! I know that some do not have sewing onboard, but rather - seminars and talks etc. ... Also, there wouldl have to be Fabric Shop Stops in the Ports of Call as well... We are cruising in February , 15 Nights...and after spreadsheeting out, all the Extras (wifi, drinks, bottle water, gratuities, crew appreciation taxes etc.).. we were very close money wise, to just Paying for a Package, which included all of it)... Nickel and Diming the whole 2 weeks, is not something we wanted to do!

There will be actual sewing as on board with machines provided in the classes you take from me and the other instructors. And yes, I like the package approach Sewtravelry provides. When I'm on vacation I just want to know what it costs instead of worrying about all the add-ons piling up. There will be a shop hop in Fort Lauderdale as a pre-cruise excursion that you can get for free plus the hotel stay the night before we leave if you book and pay a deposit by January 15. I am not sure about if there are fabric shops in the ports, but there is an optional post-cruise 3-day tour of London which includes a trip to Liberty of London, which is basically on every quilter's bucket list.
