Fly agaric is only poisonous if not prepared correctly not that I’d advise trying to prepare them for ingestion without fully researching how to do so, happy hunting people!

The recreated scene of him eating the poison is so hammy and cheesy, much rather he just told the story!

You're going to be in a lot of trouble for suggesting that you pull up the whole plant as this is what will keep it going next year regardless of whether you like it or not

I don't eat mushrooms anyway... Not much nutritional value, and chances of getting landmined by a poisonous one is just not worth the whole agonising rolling around pewking up guts and then dying.

Knowing what is or isn't poisonous is a minefield

Due to stupid people, this comment is for information purposes only. I'm not your doctor and I offer no responsibility for YOUR actions just like you are not responsible for my actions. As always do your own research and know what you are doing by confirming your knowledge many times with credible sources. You are responsible for your own actions and if in doubt, speak to a professional or a doctor because there is no room for doubt when dealing with potentially dangerous ANYTHING. - - - - - - - *Now for the Comment:* 2:31 It's interesting how everyone talks about how Amanita Muscara is poisonous. Yes, it is poisonous unless heated. Do you know what else is poisonous raw? Any musroom in the Agaricus family (Button, Horse, Field, Swiss) IF you eat them raw. Is this really true? Well, they don't cause liver damage or brain damage like ibotenic acid does however they cause your body to develop tumors throughout your entire body. Always cook mushrooms before eating them, the protein is hard to digest unless it is cooked also which means most of it will pass through your body if it is raw. Everything is dose related and so if you want tumors you will have to eat raw Agaricus mushrooms over a long period of time. As for the Amanita family, the white mushrooms (sometimes slightly green) are the ones which will kill you in a few days. The red ones contain ibotenic acid which has been shown to cause brain damage (lesions in the brain) over a period of time. If you chemically convert the ibotenic acid at 93.333C or 94C (200F) then it becomes converted to muscimol via decarboxylation. So yes, it's a poisonous fungi. Agaricus mushrooms are poisonous too. One causes brain lesions, the other causes cancerous tumors. Heat is what makes both these variety edible. Heated Amanita Muscara (above 200F || 94C for atleast 30 minutes). My sources of information are from Paul Stammets, Wikipedia, Academic studies. If you want answers to your questions then you will have to think of questions and find sources of information for answers to your questions. I will not answer questions in regards to this comment as I'm just a messenger and not a prime source of credible information.
Why Paul Stamets does not like Portobello mushrooms.
