I always thought that tape was for leaky duct work? Did they make a video showing how to put that crap on? It is probably in the same series as applying fake bullet hole stickers, and how to cut the end off a 99 cent extension cord for use as a Line cord

You guys I absolutely LOVE your pinball videos. God bless you all for the maintenance and how to tips to keep these treasures alive. I finally have my own fish tales and 3 switches went out at once.... Do you have a resource to help me troubleshoot this? I'm assuming a common connection has to be to blame... But am new to this. Thanks for any tips you can give me!

Sounds like a wire fell off or a switch is shorted. Do you have a manual for the game? If not, you should get one for reference. When you look at the 3 switches (from under the playfield) you'll likely note that they share a common wire. (The book would identify this in the switch matrix chart.) Look for shorts or a wire fell off one of the 8 switches in common. Have you watched the Ray's Tech Tips on switches? kzbin.info/www/bejne/noi3q41mhaiBgqs Soon you wont be so "new to this!" Likely a simple fix. The switches are in an 8x8 matrix. You should be able to go into switch tests in test mode and determine all switches that are out. they are all going to be in one column, or one row (probably). Then track the wire and find the break. pinside.com is an excellent resource, and a great place to get help.

+GRC Pinball Official I am not connected to pinside in any way, but it is how I connected with other WCS owners, learned specifics of my machine, and found other Pin enthusiasts in my area. I have a capcom breakshot and I think it would look really nice with mirror blades, but there doesn't seem to be any sold just for this cab... Do you know if there are any mirror blades out there that would fit... Or would I have to fabricate my own? Thanks.

i would like mirrors on my Dr Who,.. no freakin WAY they will fit, even the decals barely fit. You can buy much better 0.2mm peel and stick mirror sheet to stick inside your closet door... its at least as mirrored as the stainless and will fit where mirrors will not.

You guys are so much more serious than the so called competition channel mentioned.... Listen...Where in the world does an establishment and store, go off creating a "creep of the week" show with the inention of ridiculing and belittleing elements in the customer group that sit on the money where one as salesman depend entierly on...? Would a car dealer set up a channel with the purpose of disgracing and insulting possible would be customers publically ? His problems comes into the picture when newbies and 1st time buyer come in from the side looking to buy their first machine. Who wants to be shamed for asking the wrong questions..... You guys happily show problem solving , tips and hints.... Big T tells people not listed in his phone book to go fu@k themselves and that he doesn't have time giving advice... Yet he has time setting up an Internet show hammering the very same people.... This will backfire on him eventually.. ...

Not yet that we know of. It's unusual to see Gottlieb games get repaired, let alone modded.

Nope... Initially they appear that they might. They do not. JJP cabinets are significantly "deeper" towards the back.

I didn't use TNT foil tape, it was theatrical mirror film which was really fucking expensive and it still looked like crap. Even had to stick it on with spray glue because it's not self adhesive. I agree just buy proper mirror blades instead. Also, unless you have a different kind of gravity in America then a pin should happily stand on 3 legs. Trust me. Just don't push on it :)

Is there any other DMD games that had the display in the playfield area? Why did it not stick and they do it more like they did on Cirqus Voltaire? Would it be PinGraphix? Well the packing thing would only benefit me since I am hoping my custom pin will be popular enough that people will want one. If not I got the only proto-type beotch! xD

Wow the mirror finish looks really sharp on the pin especially with the neon there.. I can't believe someone would do that tape on a pin. It's almost as bad as putting duct tape in there. I wish Ray would wear a hidden camera when he goes to fix those morons pins. Really, they got to call someone else to fix what they jacked up. My lord!

Pinball is not what I'd call a cheap hobby. Cheaper than Harley's I guess... but I'm over $1300-ish in the hole for my 4 pins. Mirror blades are sub $100 mods, so not really that expensive. These foil tape bandits are the same kind of people who buy a $60,000 car, then complain about the price of OE brake pads... so they go to Poop Boys for the cheapest pads they can find.

Again, good video. FYI: I am not the same person as the other suggesting magnets as a topic. I live in Minnesota and have been restoring a Bally WCS for several months, hence my interest in the magnets and pop holes. :) Also, I am a big fan of Ray and have watched every one of Ray's Tech Tips, which helped me tremendously in my project.
