The RAy Select seems to give a deeper sound that i prefer. High frequency seems better on the stock tubes. Thx for the video.

Thanks for these informative videos. Much appreciated! I understand your still using the Ray Select KT88’s. I’m wondering what your now using in the pre amp stage and are you still using the rectifier tube that came with the X7?

With my Muzishare x7 I'm using now TAD 6550str, TAD gz34, genelax golden lion gold pin 12au7 and Electro harmonics 12ax7 . Its a nice combo and it doesn't sound like SS amp any more. I would like to have a better bass to be honest. When I was using electro harmonics 12au7 black the sound was thicker but I was missing that spark in upper frequencys. Maybe one day I will try those tubes . Now I will try to enjoy my new dac which is GUSTARD DAC-A26 !!! Thank you for your recommendation. I've listen to that combo for about 1h today and it's really good !

Hmm. I like the stock tubes more than these other tubes. They sound more balanced, relaxed and holographic. Yes, Ray tubes have little bit more bass, but sound quite dry. Maybe it's because of KZbin sound compression.

is the mixture of the two isn't it? the first one for mid ranger and treble, and the second one for the bass but not good for vocals for your setup would work good with a active management speaker system.

Bonjour, j'ai des 12ax7 JJ electronics qui sonnent chaud, dynamique avec des graves plutôt "boum" et là je recherche des 12ax7 qui sonnent neutres, transparents avec des graves qui sonnerait plutôt " bang"..graves plus bas..si vous pouviez me conseiller un modèle, suis perdu parmi la quantité des lampes. I disagree: VERY GOOD sound! Too much bass but it must be a matter of the great normalization that KZbin imposes. I just listened to the other video (PSVANE Horizon vs stock) and the system sounds much better with the Rays. Live the difference must be much greater. It is a shame they don not sell 12AT7, which are what I need for my hybrid integrated.
