Having to face down technical stuff right off the bat definitely hindered my growth as a music producer for a very long time, and it still does today, to an extent. It's very easy for producers to fall into the delusions of "good sound=engineering degree" and "the easy way=terrible sounds". It has proven to be immensely difficult for me as a producer to create any music that sounds good, has some lasting substance to it, AND was fun to produce. I don't know if my brain has just been stuck in neutral gear for a long time or what, but the system has, as of yet, remained obscured to me. Every time I try to wing it, I do something I'm not terribly happy with and a fuse in my brain gets fried, dooming my project file to swift deletion. I have been running this gauntlet for several years now, ending up back at square one no matter what I do. I want to produce electronic music, but something within that pink-ish mass of neurons between my ears is keeping me from reaching that sort of artistic self-actualization. Has anyone else ever felt this sort of subconscious hindrance before? What would be some good ways to get out of it?

13:00 even before watching this video I was able to synthesize a very similar sounding timbre in Vital and even in the SubSynth of Caustic 3. In Caustic it didn't get the result I wanted but it was satisfactory producing in a Mobile DAW, until it was good..I'm a big fan and I love the timbre it creates, I find it sick and as much as I want to have my own identity and sound, I expel myself a lot from its sounds

Do you plan on breaking down Insane? I wonder what was going through your head when you made that 13 second "pause" before the 2nd drop. Actually, what is it called when the drop drops but the drums don't kick in right away?

What software is that? I use garage band for the music I make. and how do you distort your voice so much? I have a vox with my software but I never use it. I am not confident enough to use my voice much.

What's the next steps after you're done with this project, until the final version is out on the streaming services? Do you export stems and mix in a new project? send it off to mastering? Would love some insight here!
@rayvolpe3 жыл бұрын
i mix it down as i produce inside that project. my mix is mainly leveling like i say in the vid, and my master chain is on. so after i bounce i just car test it and reference other speakers then i send to distribution for streaming services or the label etc!

But yeah love your music hope one day me and you could possibly collaborate. You’re a big inspiration to me alongside with sonny John Moore or skrillex. Also over my head is a really good record too thank you so much for the knowledge. I could soak up as much production tips as I can. Thank you ray volpe.
