I totally agree! I don't know what happened to dubstep, but once it moved away from they typical wubs to whatever you want to call this new crap. I ended up migrating to Future Bass and House due to their more diverse and consistently good music. If dubstep ever decides to go back to being more like this, I will be more than happy to listen, but until then. I will be dropping a song as soon as that ridiculous and annoying noise starts.

serious 2013 vibes here, dubstep needs a breath of fresh air and producers like Ray Volpe could do it. Older producers like Skrillex, Skism, Nero and others are doing other things (I know Skism is still somewhat involved but he's more pre occupied running his label, not so sure about what Nero's up to). If people looked for more unknown talent like Ray then it could revitalise what originally made dubstep explode in popularity. Just my opinion :)

What originally made dubstep explode wasn't the actual sound. It got popular because it was different from anything anyone has heard before. It died because people got bored of it. Not because the sound started to evolve. 2010-2013 dubstep was cancer, seriously. Empty, spacey, reverbed out cancer made by producers who were too new to make good quality stuff. They caught on because they were innovative, nothing else. 6 years after dubstep blew up, we have people like Virtual Riot and Barely Alive who know how to make music less abrasive, fuller, etc. but we have people bitching about how they want shitty 2012 dubstep back. Nobody is going to breathe life into a dead style like 2010 dubstep, because nobody wants to. Modern dubstep and riddim stuff is objectively better because producers have had much more experience in the genre. They've had plenty of time to improve sound design, mixes, and general musicality. Old dubstep is dead, and it's never coming coming back full swing.

Personally, all Dubstep is good. I can literally just listen to all of the stuff on UKF. Anything from REAL Dubstep to modern brostep. It's all good in my eyes (or ears I guess :p).
