This is how country, rock, folk should sound! Reminds me of the good Texas country that is hard to find.

Great ! In these days of 'The Voice , where singers [admittedly some very good singers ] try to show off HOW MUCH they can sing , with a stack of 'hey, look at me' vocal gymnastics, it's good to hear a man who still trusts the melody and the lyric to carry the song.

This song gives me chills. That's what a great songwriter can do.

Hey, if anyone knows a version of this song with drums and what-not, I'm going to assume it was studio, could you send me the link?

went to see her laid out to meet her saints She was dressed in white, low cut silk and lace Even her mama said she was always trouble Promise a man everything, give him half and charge him double [Chorus] We all gonna bust loose One of these days We all got to stay loose Come what may We all wanna cut loose On payday We ain't ever gonna break loose Of these rock and roll ways [Verse 2] The girl walked like she owned Bourbon Street And in those days she had grown men kneeling at her feet She took to an old profession as the source of revenue Now all she's taking with her is a dress from Saks Fifth Avenue [Chorus] We all gonna bust loose One of these days We all got to stay loose Come what may We all wanna cut loose On payday We ain't ever gonna break loose Of these rock and roll ways

Ray Wylie tremendous. Too bad for America most of you don’t know who he is. Read his autobiography.

@TheOneEyedHound For example, the heart felt comment right above here that I wrote 3 months ago. .. Other fans of Ray can read my sincerity and must have been voting my comment up. Thanks. I'm sorry I was sarcastic to you, OK?
@ksr9t11 жыл бұрын
Yeah Keith would be great add some more "chunk" to the rhythm and Tom Waits wouldn't hurt being there either

@TheOneEyedHound WHOAH There!! My angry young friend. Take a joke Man.... If you LOOK around HERE and some of Ray's other videos on tube You'll spot my handle. If you read ANY of my other comments you will find I have the greatest respect for Ray and all his work. I'm about the same age as him and I think we've both done plenty of drink n drugs in our lives... I AM NOT Saying they are a good thing and I believe YOU ARE RIGHT to stay away from them..So take a Chill Pill Dude! (That's a joke).

Why do I here Mick Jagger singing this? It's a great song by Hubbard, but it needs Keith in the background...

@TheOneEyedHound When someone apologises to YOU after you called them arrogant scum etc, The polite thing to do is accept the apology with humour and grace. I'm bored with this now. I'm outta here. Have a nice enjoyable long life kid... I MEAN it TOP TIPS...Lighten up. Try to get jokes, even ones against you... Learn guitar.
