Started with listening to Snake Farm as kind of a joke. Still a great song. Once I found the rest of the music, man i was hooked. Just can't get enough man.

As a proud owner for the last 25+ years of a 72 Goldtop Deluxe, I think owning a Goldtop Les Paul is something worth aspiring to. As a person who has been in a happy, healthy relationship for the last 21 years, I'll plead the fifth on dating dancers. Much love to y'all.

The original location opened in 1971 and moved to the Lemmon Ave location in 1974. I saw quite a few progressive county artists at the original location. I remember seeing you there one night. It was Texas' version of California's Troubadour. Hippy country outlaw rockers hang out with hot babes everywhere

"The days I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations I have really good days". That pretty much sums it up. First time I met you you told me to "keep my gratitude higher than my attitude". I don't always succeed but I do try. Thanks for sharing stories behind your sons.

I actually came to Ray Wylie Hubbard through the East Side Dave Sports Show on Sirius XM, same week he did Letterman. It was on the Opie & Anthony channel back in the day & Roy Harter worked there & he knew Ray somehow. Anywho, RWH came over & somehow put up w/ ESD & they performed Drunken Poets Dream.

I loooove this song so much. I ordered a RWH art piece from his site with the gratitude quote on it. Such a great line. If I ever get a tattoo…

I’ve seen RWH in concert many many times so I’m familiar with this story but not sure I’ve heard the part about TJW getting the free publication rights to use his lines. Thanks Ray, like always enjoy the stories behind the songs. See you again at The Sellersville in May

Tony Joe White did the right thing because I discover him and his music through this song soon after discovering RWH.

Very cool but the song says it all dont ya think? Never heard TJW but I heard Rory Gallagher talking about him in '74. Perhaps I should investigate. Ray ...I think you're pretty amazing and so does my youngest son!
