This song is about channeling anger and grief when losing loved ones to illness or an accident, when there is no one to blame.

There is no gods and if there was he wants to take them all down. With all the shit that’s happening there can’t be😆 Burn heaven and flood hell Make your own life your own paradise. Fuck religion.

Of all the first Parkway drive songs you listened to, it had to be Wishing Wells. 😂 Honestly one of the most aggressive songs vocally by Winston (the vocalist) on the album. So much anger and emotion behind this song. If I'm not mistaken, it was written during the grieving of the loss of his brother, or some family member.

Parkway drive is so chill it's sparkle fabric. Channeling anger and grief. This is a good song for that.

The lead singer, Winston, went through a period where he lost multiple loved ones and also his dog in a short amount of time. That’s where the inspiration for Wishing Wells came from. Also, fun fact, he’s hanging upside down here (hence the odd body movement).
@sonofodin78883 ай бұрын
my favorite song from them . lead singer lost a friend and the songs about grieving and all the emotions . “Burn your heaven , flood your hell” could be anger . “Ask me how I’m copping and I say I’m just doing fine” is just about everyone dealing with loss and hiding the pain . every lyric has such meaning and it’s amazing . Also you’re right , the video is a one take he the day after he got the news of his friend

Wishing Wells' is the compression of grief into song,” says McCall. “It's attempting to place blame when there is none, seeking answers where there is only emptiness, and ultimately trying to find some kind of reason and meaning to justify the ultimate loss we will all be faced with in life. This was a quote from the lead singer when the song came out

Day something of asking for a Dayseeker reaction. For real though, would love to see it and Rory's voice is just pure melted buttery golden goodness. In terms of PWD, you should look at some of their older songs like Romance Is Dead, Five Months, Home Is For The Heartless... lots of great tracks.
