Love Aurora! I believe this is one of those one hour challenges. You perform one of your own songs, and get a short list of songs to choose from to cover, with one hour to prepare. Aurora didn't feel like singing the "dirty" parts, so she changed it a bit 😄. Most of her band members tends to sing very well. Silja was amazing, and drummer/producer Magnus has a very underrated voice. He does great backing vocals on the slow/stripped version of "A Temporary High".

To add to this, Aurora typically hates modern pop music, and she thinks it's "ugly". On the other hand, she often chooses pop songs because they are so simple to restructure, they have easy lyrics to remember, and she can make it into something more meaningful. And I agree with you about Magnus. He has a baritone voice and always did the deep parts of songs. It's especially apparent in the cover they did of Across the Universe, by The Beatles.

Yes, the artists that visit the show perform a song of their own, and then chooses a song from a list to cover and coming up with the cover at the studio. Many say they get up to 1 hour to prepare, but personally I never heard them mention any time frame. After the Boney M Rasputin cover Aurora did, she wrote in the comments afterwards they only rehearsed for ~15min.

Aurora is loyal. She remains loyal to her band members until they decide to leave. That's what happens to Silja Sol. She was by Aurora's side as a backup for years until she decided it was time to evolve and continue solo. Aurora had also spontaneously hired a dance group and when the concert was over, Aurora asked if they wanted to continue with her if opportunities presented themselves. The dancers said yes and were happy. Aurora is loyal, but doesn't expect the same from others. The path goes as long as it goes.

This is Aurora's band. They traveled and performed all around the world for years. Magnus on the Cahon, Freddy on guitar and Silja Sol on backing vocals. Magnus still produces with Aurora, but Freddy and Silja have moved on to other projects.

For each album and tour Aurora has had a different band and back up vocals. Some have played on almost all of them. Others have come and gone. None of these performers are on her current tour. And most of them were not on her last tour either. But her current band is very talented.

I think she took out the original lyrics (where she sings "nanananana") since the challenge was to make a cover within one hour (!) and she didn't have the time to practise these "difficult lyrics". Others say it's because she didn't like the replaced lyrics.

If you can please react to her song "Gematria" live performance from Layers ~Lights and Shadows~ concert 2016. This song is inspired by buddhist mantras. Gematria means way of writing words by using numbers, for example in english alphabet A is 1, B is 2 etc. Lyrics to this song are mix of few languages like japanese, english, italian, french etc and she also used gematria there. She's probanly the only one who knows real meaning of lyrics to this song, because like she said, emotions are the same in all languages, so she wanted listeners to listen and feel, not focus on words. This song, especially this live performance, is like a journey. I hope you will react to it, even if no one else will recommend Kokia to you, she definitely deserves to be more popular.

What a voice Aurora has been gifted. I don't know if "God is a Woman" is a lyric steeped in feminism or perhaps demonstrates a lack of understanding as to the nature of God. Am I being too literal? Maybe it is neither and just offers a literary device for an expression of relationship.

Yeah - like "God" would not literally be a male. That would logically imply a potential "Mrs. God" - to make sense of a quality that is based on biological reproduction. However, wouldn't it be precious if such beings existed that would get together to make little "Baby-Gods".
