This young Lady, born in Norway (a real Viking), is something very special. She is a singer, songwriter, composer and producer. She started composing music at the age of 6. When she was 9, she wrote her first song in English. Before that in Norwegian. She never wanted to be famous. She wrote only for herself and in secret. It wasn't until she was 15 that her mother found out what she was capable of and persuaded her to share her music with other people. It would be selfish not to do it. She had previously canceled a record company when one of the songs she performed at school was secretly recorded and posted online without her knowledge. This is how the record company became aware of her. She is what many role models should be. Absolutely down-to-earth, extremely emphatic (she already cries when she sees people crying), absolutely open-hearted, very funny, an extreme nature lover (she couldn't live without her forests. She has absolutely no inhibitions about saying what she thinks. But one thing very funny way (if she starts sweating under her arms at her concerts, she tells everyone that too 😁). She was once asked what her hobbies are. She said reading, cooking and masturbating 😁. Her interviews are always an experience. She is highly intelligent and has a memory like an elephant (she can recite the number pi up to 200 decimal places). She likes to talk to her fans between songs. Her trademark are almost uncontrollable movements of her body while she sings. Usually dances one to the music. In her case, the music dances with her. She feels everything she sings and sings nothing that she is not responsible for. She has remained human to this day. All her songs are special. She doesn't sing perfectly, but with enough feeling that it works perfectly. This lady is a real treasure among the stars. Murder Song is sung by the victim all the time. This also means the countdown at the beginning. She counts down herself for her husband. These are all her thoughts, not those of him. He does not justify anything. He's just crying. She sings "I know, he knows, that he's killing me for mercy". Both know. The man does not want to kill her, but does so at her request. And for him to make it, she counts down. He redeems her from her suffering. He becomes a murderer for her. Euthanasie for a terminally ill wife. And if you pay attention to how the duet is sung, you hear Aurora singing "And here I go, oh oh oh", while the man just sings "Go". After the shot her spirit prepared to leave and he gives her his permission that it's okay to go, He will be okay again without her. Then she counts down again, several times because it's hard to leave him and then she disappears forever. Of course, this is an interpretation, but taking into account the things that are actually offered. For me, this is the only comprehensible interpretation. In others, there are too many logic gaps for me.

This is the acoustic version of Murder Song, I recommend listening to the original album version as well privately, which is much faster paced with more instruments and even a club beat at one point. Aurora was 19 here and she is 28 today, and she has released 4 albums and 2 EPs, and writes all of her music and lyrics, though sometimes with cowriters. On her 2 latest albums from Jan 2022 and June 2024 she experiments with many different music styles beyond her original styles.

Aurora's eyes are like lasers. I saw her live last month, and I was in the front row. She locked eyes with me during one of the songs, and it was so incredibly intense. You KNOW when Aurora sees you. She was young here, but she's 28 now, and she's the most graceful, intense, authentic artist I've ever experienced. When she was younger, she hadn't perfected her art of making her performance graceful. Many people consider it awkward, but it's so perfect. She literally becomes the music. Now that she's older, she takes a lot of care to connect with her audience when she performs live. And her ability to tell a complete story when she performs hasn't changed at all. She's such an incredible artist, that I don't even have the proper words to describe her. She has one of the purest, and most true voices I've ever heard. When she sings live, it's usually even better than the studio recording. Aurora is considered experimental/folk/Electronic. And wait until you see her sense of humor. She's a natural comedienne. One of the most anticipated things about her live shows is her little talks between songs. She's just a true rare gem.

Aurora is a special artist, she just "is" music. It pours out of her. I second the "It Happened Quiet" video. Incredibly engaging. Spreading out in her universe, she has a couple of collaborations with some of my other favorite artists. 1)Jacob Collier & AURORA - A Rock Somewhere X The Seed (Greenpeace). Jacob is a musical phenom, that often gets the label "genius" put on him. 2) AURORA & Silvana Estrada - Cure For Me (Live). Silvana is a Mexican folk and jazz musician who is a perfect compliment to Aurora. Since you like harmony so much, I would like to recommend the sisters of the band Larkin Poe. They call themselves a roots music band, with their music generally get placed in the blues category. While their full band album output is fantastic, they have a cover series on their KZbin channel where they explore making the music of others in their style. These are raw recordings, usually just one microphone, mostly acoustic, straight through with no post work done. One of my favorites is their cover of Ozzy Osborne's "Mama, I'm Coming Home", it shows their harmony skills and Rebecca's stellar lead vocal prowess. But any of the songs would do. Don't necessarily need a reaction, just check them out. After checking out a few covers, a reaction to one of their originals like "Mockingbird" would be lovely.

I love Aurora´s interpretation of the song "Rasputin" It is a 70ties energetic smash disco song but she made it something else completely - no disco vibe at all but "pure Aurora vibe" also just only her calm voice is carrying that song with diffident background guitar accompaniment. It would be very funny when you would compare the original (which is musically much fun and also a bit awkward at the same time due to the strange energetic physical stage performance of the singer jumping around like having ants in his pants ) and what then Aurora made out of this song. Will be a night and day comparision.

As I commented when you posted this on Patreon, I'm really glad to see you discovering Aurora. Truly a unique talent. Her live performances, as you've seen, are great. I still really like her music videos as a first listen for many songs, because then you can really appreciate how much she changes things up in some of her live performances. If you want a great live performance for a first listen, though, try Lucky from her Nidarosdamen Cathedral performance. Also, her official video for The Seed is incredibly powerful - 21 million views so far. Then you can follow that up with her live performance in the documentary about her, Haik (a Norwegian documentary show) - this song is available to watch without watching the whole thing. She has a bit of a surprise when performing that one and seeing her reaction is great. And as others have mentioned - her music genre is simply "Aurora".

(Yes, his name is spelled that way.) Aurora likes bugs, so no surprise she recruited some butterflies for the OMV. Did you notice the butterfly hair clip in the live performance? I think she has butterfly decorations on her dress as well. I think she likes to perform barefoot. One of her sisters designs many of her outfits. And oh my goodness, those eyes!

I don't get the bare feet thing but hey, to each their own!

@@Abigirl_Reacts I'm told some performers feel more grounded that way. The Charismatic Voice, for instance, in her reaction to "Runaway" from the same concert said that. I'm not a performer, so 🤷🏻♂.

I've just decided to keep watching your Aurora reactios :) I'm following your Ren path, now - Aurora path, should join you on your Nightwish path... oh, shoot! Lots of vids to watch ❤ Highly recommending her Live at Nidarosdomen concert, especially the song "Through The Eyes Of a Child".

As many have stated below, she is amazing, and VERY good at eliciting emotion. Go down her rabbit hole and you will not be disappointed! Since Murder Song was pretty heavy, here is a recommendation for a lighter song - Queendom. And how can you argue with meowing as a vocal warmup in my favorite version of Queendom? link here kzbin.info/www/bejne/q36biKScq5p9rZo Or how about All Is Soft Inside live at KEXP? kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4SVmomZfN-Shc0

I've mentioned Aurora to you many times. Now you understand why? Welcome to the Weirdos and Warriors fan base. We might even be more fanatical, in a good way, than the Renegades? She is something else isn't she? Merry Xmas everyone. Abi just got her best present ever?

Welp, The Warning and AURORA, you are now reacting to both of my musical obsessions for the last 4 years. I describe Aurora as Electro-Folk-Pop-Rock. She really mixes them all in her music. One of the coolest things about her is that you get different versions of her songs. There's the album version, the live version, the stripped-down live version, the acoustic version... You might be surprised to know that the album version of this song starts with piano and gets up-beat. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZfOmqulf5eLsNksi=n2lJiBDTR3TuWI7w This isn't an official video, it's clips from a mini-documentary set to the album version of the song. I can't wait for you to explore more Aurora!

Wow I liked the version i watched SO much more
@devynbarat777721 күн бұрын
@Abigirl_Reacts Yeah, most people prefer the stripped down version of this one. We are so lucky to get multiple versions of her songs.

Yep. That is the only downside of Aurora actually. Though she started to use her lower register lately. I too like deeper voices more, and it took me some time to discover her uniqueness. Now I listen almost exclusively to her :)
