Morissette Amon is one of the top 10 to 12 female Pop singers of all time. FTR, I am a retired professional music critic with 45 + years experience. I saw Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Patti LaBelle, Donna Summer and so many other all time greats, live, in their Apex prime vocal years. Motissette is in their class.

There are numerous great singers but they never become world wide successful artists , is it that a great voice is not essential to become a top successful artist ? , other factors obviously are needed such as being a unique original artist with ones own original style and direction .

Perhaps she is content and happy being a big fish in a small pond if so good luck to her . Sadly, even a name like David Foster’s doesn’t hold that much weight in the modern music industry. It really is a connection to “deep pockets” and you really need to tap into the hip-hop and/or rap circuit to get anyone’s attention. I know, it’s sad. Extremely talented top-tier vocalists like Mori are out there struggling to even get recognized. The industry is saturated by mediocre vocalists working with all the “right” producers and bank holders. I’ve always thought Mori would be perfect for anything Disney. But the problem with that is that she would be stuck in that Disney light. The current music industry is just sad right now

Lovely reaction. Since you mentioned Whitney Houston, you should check out her live performance of The Bodyguard Medley which she sang at the David Foster and Friends concert in Manila a month ago. My favorite version is the one from the second night of the concert series where she is wearing a pink gown. She is amazing and many of her fans, including myself, think she is one of the best female vocalists in the world, today.

In the same way that people will always remember and associate "I Will Always Love You" to Whitney Houston, and "My Love Will Go On" with Celine Dion, so will "Akin Ka Na Lang" with Morissette. In this performance she was able to showcase her talent, the various textures and colors in her voice, the squeaks (which you also seem to like a lot), the growls, and of course, her gorgeous whistle register and her breathtaking long-held belts. I was smiling when you couldn't believe what you heard when she flips into that beautiful whistle note with runs after holding a belting note (that you kept on replaying it), and did you also notice she did the belting that followed after that whistle for about 14 seconds without breathing? I also smiled when you did that raspberry thing at the end when she did that final sweet whistle note. Just to put the icing on the cake, so to speak. 🥰 I hope you continue to watch and feature Morissette on your channel. She has a huge music library of covers and originals, it will take you months and even years to react to. I suggest you also see her "Rise Up" (Andra Day), "Secret Love Song" (Little Mix), and other Filipino songs "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw", "Naririning Mo Ba", "Panaginip" and "You And I", all on the Wish Bus.
