I will grieve his loss for the rest of the time I have left to draw breath. He is the definition of living with his heart on his sleeve.

That's why people liked Grey Daze, LP and DBS songs because the lyrics are so relateable.

Chester Bennington had a history of drug abuse and alcohol addiction. At age 11 he began using cocaine, smoking marijuana and using meth. He attributed his actions to coping with on-going sexual abuse which started when he was just 7 years old by an older male friend. The abuse continued until he was 13 years old.

I was a Chester?Grey Daze fan at this point, he was so young but what a voice!. They played here in Phoenix Az in the mid to late 90s and had no idea at the time going to these shows was going to be a part of the rest of my life. Rest in peace Chester! And yes he was a teenager and had to wait outside the venue (if they served alcohol) until the band was going up on stage. Omg I miss him, followed him into Linkin Park, Dead by Sunrise and Grey Daze. Just before he passed Grey Daze was making a comeback and they were supposed to start rehearsing the weekend after Chester Passed....

What a blessing to have seen him perform with Grey Daze! I only discovered Grey Daze through being a fan of Linkin Park, but I love their music. I still really miss that guy, I don't think I'll ever stop wishing we could have him back ❤

@@ancatdal I know how hard it is and I know it will never be ok that he is gone. Still listen to LP or Grey Daze everyday and will forever love that man. I have heard that Linkin Park is rumored to be doing a reunion in 2025 with only Mike, Dave and Brad and some secret new lead singer. I am wondering if this will be an easy or tough situation. Supposedly it's going to be a female vocalist. Hey if you want to check out a really good acoustic live performance of Chester singing with guitarists from Dead By Sunrise his other side band search Dead by Sunrise acoustic live performance of Let Down 2005 :)

@@jenBuruato I honestly wish the band luck with whatever they decide to do, and hope they will be happy. But I don't personally want to listen to Linkin Park with another singer. If the band continued with Mike as a vocalist, and toured with bands where they could invite singers from those bands to perform with them, that would be amazing. But having one singer permanently try to step into Chester's shoes is just not something I want. I've heard that performance, it's so beautiful ❤️

@@ancatdal I tend to agree, I am seriously not sure I can listen to LP without Chester. I felt so much with his vocals that came from his pain and passion and someone else singing the songs he sang, I just don't know...I can't even listen to tribute bands. I do wish them the best for sure they deserve to move forward this was their life and I understand their wanting to get back out there. I did hear this may just be a summer festival or tour just for 2025 but who knows. All I know is I still miss Chester and always will. Glad you heard the song Let Down, he wrote that and it meant a lot to him so the soft side of his vocals felt beautiful.💗

@@jenBuruato I'm sure a lot of vocalists could do their songs justice. I really did enjoy hearing the performances of LP songs during Mike's Already Over sessions. But I can't listen to tribute bands either. I can't fully explain the difference, but I feel it.

you definitely need to listen to the original version of this song! I prefer it over the re-recorded version. I was a big fan of Grey Daze back in the day, i always preferred it over Linkin Park

At 17, I don't think Chester at that time really grasped the gravity of what he was saying, "if I had a second chance, I'd make amends, only to find myself losing in the end" I don't believe he had any concept at that age to really grasp what he was singing.
@kathrynleffin1016Ай бұрын
I disagree. He had a bad childhood and young adult life. I think he was a deep thinker and very intelligent. I think he knew exactly what he was saying because of all the trauma he lived through. The sad part though is that he shouldn't be the one feeling like he has to make amends with anyone. His parents and the abuser should for making him go through all the things he went through as a young person.
@DwayneffАй бұрын
@@kathrynleffin1016 he was 17 years old when he made this song. 17? You are worried about making mistakes and making amends? I mean...it's possible.
