I did not pay that much for my first house. If you buy a half ton pick up truck for over 90,000 that will be a like make a payment on a house just crazy

I can tell you from first hand experience that dealers are losing at least 10k per EV they sell due to massive discounts in order to live them.

Correction, Ford didn't lose $37k per EV, it was the stockholders. There simply seems to be zero accountability.

The auto industry is like the medical industry. You don't know what individual options cost. There are probably 20 options you don't want, but have to buy, to get the 4 options you want.

Guys, a few points that I don't think you are seeing. 1) Autonomous driving is not "futuristic". Tesla is rolling out robotaxis with no steering wheels in 4 months! Have you ridden a Tesla recently? FSD works now. 2) Ford loses money on each EV because they don't have scale. They need to build millions in order to make positive gross profit. Selling more EVs does not make them lose more money, it drives down unit cost. 3) Ford and GM are not offering "affordable" options, because all the profit is in premium vehicles. They used to sell entry level models, hoping to get repeat customers that they could upsell next time. Those days are gone. Nobody is going to buy 2 more new ICE cars. 80% of cars sold globally will be electric in 5 years. Maybe not in USA, but China is already >50%. Norway is >90%. Europe is > 30%. USA is only 15% of global car market.

We're probably at the start of a scenario similar to the 1930s where automakers or brands disappear. Nissan is most likely first, followed by Jaguar, Stellantis brands, and some gm lines.

Ford wants to sell me a 2025 Explorer ST AWD for months now. "Agreed upon price" $61900. Ridiculous. I told them 2 huge problems. 1) Quick search shows the average transaction price of that same vehicle $56k-$57k. And 2) not a chance in hell I am paying $997 DOC fee. Reply, come in we will make you happy. BS. Besides there are bunches of places I can spend 3 hours at that make me unhappy. No need to go there.

Just purchased a 2025 Explorer ST last week and the sticker was $61,450. OTD was $48,900 w/o title/registration, and sales tax. Negotiated the Doc Fee to $250 and taken off the vehicle bottom line. Other incentives thrown in like window tint, a couple oil changes and mats. I thought that was a fair price for my location in Arizona.

If you buy a new car, you're paying 2x price for half the cost. Your discounts come from their extreme profits. Look at BYD. Coming in at 30k is a steal. Yet we put a 100% tariff on them. So, we have to pay 60k to get into the units. Meanwhile, Lincoln does not have such tariff selling onto China market. WTF, people? You good with that? In addition to no tariffs, American manufacturers can't come in at a compete price. Total BS. Delights me that I can buy used for the next 2 decades. Dueces.

If Ford sold a million more EVs they would have lost LESS per vehicle. In fact they might have made a profit. Guys, please stop perpetuating bad math. The loss per vehicle is the cost of (profit on each vehicle - (R&D + operational and manufacturing costs) ) / by vehicle sold. The more vehicles are sold the less that loss is.

Hey Ray, please put a stop to a video like this in the future where you do a BS ‘handoff’. It’s literally the equivalent of a bait and switch. If in an hour video, you’re gonna have someone else come in for 30 minutes then do two separate and distinct videos or else your credibility is zero with me.

Nissan neglected to fix a known problem with their transmissions and ruined their brand reputation. Maybe the newest products are better but even if they are it will take time to repair the damage. Do they have time? I have looked at the frontier and I think it's a nice simple truck. They said I could get 4k off a 2024. Is that a reasonable discount on a bare bone S model?

I am sorry to say that the future is EV's. If we don't see that we're going to lose everything. We need to get in front of this. ICE cars are the past. Especially technology. Less moving parts. We need to retrain ourselves. Just like the Japanese car industry came in and changed things. We are just delaying the facts.

@@shadys33EVs represented 9% in 2024, that number will keep increasing. Norway EV sales are 95% of all vehicles sold. The US and everywhere else is going in the same direction. GM and Ford will be reorganized in 5 years filing Chapter 11, then 5 years afterwards it will file Chapter 7 full liquidation.

Hopefully not, mining and processing the materials needed for producing EV’s are worse for the environment than ICE vehicles if that’s where your position stems from.
