Brilliant Ray - you’re growing a fantastic bow paddler there! What a fantastic example she is to young ladies in the paddling world. Lina and yourself must be very proud. Well done!!

Lovely film Ray. Very impressed with Maya's paddling! The clarity of the message is excellent and your twin screening with synchronised in-boat and on-bank demos is a brilliant enhancement! Good to see Maya escaped in the end 😉👍

Thanks David. Your comments are always gratefully received. It took me some time and trying different methods to get that twin screening to work. I will pass on your kind comment to Maya.

thanks Ray, Im about to take my family canoeing again tomorrow, and this is just what they need to know. A bit above the basics they currently do, but not so advanced that they dont understand it. Let Maya know my daughter was very encouraged to see her demonstrating.

That's fantastic. The great thing is that the kids 'get' this and then they are away. Have fun and let it develop slowly.

Thank you Ray for another master class! With all your introduction of these single blade stroke techniques in your book and KZbin channel, I also find them perfectly suitable to manoeuvre my sea kayak using a Greenland storm paddle. I started to use one side of the paddle to canoe my sea kayak this way and reinforce all the canoe muscle memories. Recently been to a narrow river creek with families on their inflatable. I can use these canoe turning strokes nicely to navigate the bushes and tree trunks:)
@RayGoodwinCanoe4 жыл бұрын
Yep with you all the way there. Back when I was very active in ww kayak and sea kayak my canoe techniques slotted across easily. Equally my experience on hard ww rivers and playing in tide races, in kayak, influenced what I do in canoe. At the end of the day it is still water and the blade is just our way of interfacing with it. So good observation and point Bryan.

Hello Ray, hope you and family are doing well. I am making laminated beavertails for my families. I notice both ladies in your video are using beavertail. They look a bit wider than the classic plan. Do you mind sharing blade width and blade length for both paddles? Thanks

@@RayGoodwinCanoe I am wondering if you also offer classes during summer 2022? I am still in China and come back to Germany middle of next year. Currently I am looking for canoe classes beginner level in Germany but would also be interested in a class from you.

Super video Ray. Clear and informative as ever. Really well explained - on the land, hand positions, body positions and movements etc then a water demo. Also the what not to dos are equally as important. Not rushed through the skills either. Plenty of time to digest the info. Also great you have excellent paddlers in The crew to demo for you too! Thanks for the vids! Off out to the Brec Mon to play! 🤠🛶

Fantastic - just what I need. So when Maya is back up coaching please can I come to her for some advice on bow paddling? Her cross deck looked particularly effortless - but that might be the flexibility of youth!
@RayGoodwinCanoe4 жыл бұрын
Yep I am really envious of that flexibility. I am sure Maya will be more than willing to give advice on paddling, life the universe and everything if my experience is anything to go by.
