God damn, seeing progress that you made on this project lately makes me happy. I know next to nothing about programming so I have so much respect towards you and all the tech savy folk. Im sure that the day you finish you will be the next big name in the rayman community. Have a nice one.

Good to see you back in action! I'm not giving up on the Rayman 4 game you're working on! This looks like Rayman 2 scenarios which is cool too. Will these features be implemented in ROTD?

Most of them yeah - the modern ROTD codebase was actually based off this, as I started this project before the 2020 modern iteration of ROTD.

Banger, in love with what I see. How much of the game is missing still? Because this looks reasonably playable.
@rayfan98763 жыл бұрын
I'd say it's about 1/3 done, which is a fine chunk, but there's still a lot missing!

Yo, I have a question, can I listen to the soundtrack of the game song by song, instead of a lot in a single video?
@rayfan98763 жыл бұрын
I don't have most of the original files to the older ones anymore unfortunately... I was going to set up a website with them individually once I've gotten a bit further.

Considering how much of a nightmare it can be to run Rayman 2, reckon this could be a useful replacement if you've got the game and can't get it running vanilla?

I would recommend playing a console version via an emulator, is just way easier to run and even looks a lot better since they can render the game at a higher resolution. I usually play Rayman Revolution (which in my opinion also just is the best version of Rayman 2) via PCSX2, it works perfectly.
@sheenclover3 жыл бұрын
@@teun2408 yeah with an emulator, it's incredibly easy to run Rayman 2. Rayman Revolution truly is the most profitable one to play with an emulator (since the drawback of having loading times, can be solved by speeding up the game). I also think it's the best Rayman 2 version.
@rayfan98763 жыл бұрын
Not in its current 30% finished state, but once it's done it'll be the ideal way to play it. Some levels (like the Fairy Glade and the Bayou) at the moment I've made sure are mostly playable throughout.
@rayfan98763 жыл бұрын
@@teun2408 The Dreamcast version via emulator is probably the best experience, yeah, and it's easier to run on PC than the actual PC Rayman 2. I'm really salty over the fact they replaced the Hall with the Isle of Doors though, it zaps the atmosphere out of the experience for me a good amount.
@rayfan98763 жыл бұрын
@@sheenclover I'd agree Revolution is the best if they didn't directly change and omit things from the original. The Hall of Doors like I said before I think is essential... I like the Plains but the removal of the Hall entirely I really hate. Also, the framerate is terrible and the lighting is way more cartoony vs the painterly look of the original.
