It's just unrealistic that Raylan would ever be baffled by a villain like Clement. The way they have him constantly puzzled and distraught over this clown would make the OG Raylan cringe.

@@acoop9865 Not at all. But the way that he's so perplexed over this man is wild. This is the dude who took down Tommy Bucks, the Bennetts, Markham, the Detroit Mafia, etc. Clement isn't smarter or more dangerous and he's literally a one man operation.

@@Aimee_Oakland And you left out the best of them all. Boyd Crower!! So much of this Raylan doesn't match the Raylan that we all thought was great. Not to sound racist but look at the women that he was attracted to also. Ava, Winona, the tall blonde bartender. Now he falls for a short, chubby, black woman? A defense attorney? The writers asked us to accept way too much change to accept this as the Raylan we wanted.

Man the potential really was there.This could have been SO good. You had the very unlikely love story that somehow actually made sense between Raylan and Carolyn (polar opposites attract), the unhinged sociopath that was much deeper and frustrated as a person in Clement, Sandy as a capable lady "player" that is clearly way the hell over her head when it comes to this situation and Sweety (stole the show) tying it together between all 4 as a very wise man who screwed up along the way and is trying to fix things. Then the noir Detroit backdrop. Instead, it's just "Ok" IMO (still like it though). Maybe they'll try again since Boyd broke out of prison.

white men are NOT attracted to black, thick, and unattractive masculine women. a black woman with her her attitude woulda been ventilated long before she met raylan for one.

The “unlikely” love story was not only unlikely but completely stupid. Let’s trace back to what Raylan’s type was and newsflash it wasn’t this. I do not care about the black and white part but the fat and ugly part I do. But I agree with almost everything else you said, I wanted to liked this miniseries but it fell flat for me. Maybe it’s just that I couldn’t get past the “romance” nonsense, idk.

It's pretty apparent that it's not a love story. It's intended to start out a case of mutual irritation and then develop into a connection. The issue is that the actors have no chemistry and the writing just wasn't there to convey the slow burn. You have nothing to point to that shows why or how these two people are connecting. Raylan is practically mute in almost every scene with Carolyn who is always yapping away about some personal problem. Clement is charismatic, young and handsome which makes him unlike any villain in Justified. But he barely shares scenes with Raylan. Sandy has nothing to do. Sweety, the best character, is suppose to represent the soul of Detroit but is mostly sequestered to his bar or some B-plot with Clement that has nothing to do with Raylan and the actual main story. It's a mess.

Mansell was a good villain, i think this show just needed a bit more budget behind it. It was half assed in a few ways which was a detriment, but the characters were pretty good.
@Aimee_Oakland7 ай бұрын
I liked Boyd Holbrook's performance but the way they wrote this character made zero sense. He's suppose to be the scariest bad guy Raylan has ever chased but he's a one man army who has almost the entire Detroit PD after him and no one can stop him? Raylan is constantly confused and amazed and puzzled at how Clement keeps getting away. It's unbelievable.

Primeval had half the charm of the original series. And almost no camaraderie. Far too dark. I quit after the first episode. But watched the original twice.

@@civilization57 i'm rewatching the original series now and honestly the first season reminded me a lot of Primeval. I think people forget the lack of chemistry and some of the hamfistedness of the first season of Justified. Thankfully every season after the first season holds up well.

I think this show would have done much better. Had they done something with the Detroit mob. You know, since they spent what 2 seasons setting them up as a major power.

Someone is getting monetized on the basis of people watching these videos to the end hoping there is something worth watching. I am almost ready to quit. City Primeval is either really bad or there are many bad editors putting out video clips about it.
