I had the same feeling back then, weird how the perception is different to me now as i replaying it and i know the mechanisc of the game to makes this leveles trivial.

The Knaaren are still one of my greatest childhood fears. I still get chills when they run at Rayman, especially in the first 2 levels of the desert.

Don't let them catch you! Just imagine the horrible things they'll do to you! They might skin you alive! They might stick bamboo under your nails! They might tear off your flesh! Or maybe, worst of all..... THEY MIGHT MAKE YOU WRITE BAD CHECKS!

God, the way the Knaaren were introduced left me a nervous wreck the first time, but looking back, it was *ingenious*. The sheer atmosphere, intimidation factor and initial mystery behind them when the first one breaks through the wall was so well paced, it could've been in a horror game, for real.

The whole Desert of the Knaaren took forever for me to get through because I was afraid to play the game. But I did it! Eventually. You can imagine what I thought of this part, lmao. I've completed the game several times, it's one of my childhood faves now

The biggest reason I got past this level as a kid was because one day a cousin of mine came over and I asked her to try and help me get past the part where you have to lure the Knaaren onto switches. In retrospect, call me a masochist, but I kinda wish they did a bit more of that, though I probably would have WAY less of a shot finishing the game if that were the case, lol.

Had to come back to the game years later. Hearing this I imagine, being in a theme park at night, but the rides suddenly turn on and the clowns that didn’t home just head towards you.😖

Aaaah ... sweet, sweet childhood trauma. Honestly I think the only thing that scared me more than these guys growing up was the SA-X from Metroid Fusion.

The Knaaren should be used more and they need to be included as top 10 scariest Rayman Moments and Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc is the best Rayman game and it doesn't get the appreciation it deserves. I like it more than Rayman 2 since Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc is a lot darker than Rayman 2.

Knaaren: Tear off his flesh! (A Knaaren rips out a man's flesh as he screams in pain, and the impaled with a huge stick from above his head to his butt and roasted in a bonfire for food). Me (thinking after witnessing what happened): I wouldn't wanna end up dead like that guy.

No because when i played this game when i was a kid, I love that part knaarens dessert (?) It was little bit terryfyin but at least i love this game:')
