Foden isn’t a bad player in my opinion. I think he’s a great player. The only problem is he’s been overrated beyond his own ability. He’s not as creative as your Palmer’s with passing and he’s not as direct a winger like Saka as well. He just has solid ball-striking and is quite nimble. Unfortunately for him, the England team right now just has elite players now that would eventually leave him on the bench.

I think going into the Euros Fodens confidence was sky high and he thought he was one of the best in the world, on par with Bellingham. The Euros showed everyone including him that outside of Man City’s system he was nowhere near the player he thought he was. He got completely shut down and his size or lack thereof was often a huge problem. I think it was a rude reality check for him and crushed his confidence. Still a very good player in my view but he’s playing way below his potential right now because he’s running on fumes in terms of his current self confidence, which I guess is true for basically the whole city team right now 😂

Yeah Pep does a terrible job managing young talents, like with that time a guy called Messi debuted on his main team. I think that some City fans think that once Rodri returns, then they will get back to where they were. I really don't think tat is the case. I think the whole squad has stopped caring. Bit harsh. I still worship at the altar of Pep BUT I’m not delusional enough to NOT see the writing on the wall: his perfectionism PLUS the burnout that accompanies their past five seasons is simply catching up to them. The same thing happened to Liverpool. You can only push players physically and mentally so far before they become jaded. This is why transfers and man management are quintessential. If Pep is fast, he will still be able to flip the script in January BUT I wouldn’t bet on it.
