Wow, did Scott Bakula die? I knew they were doing a reboot but I just assumed they would get the OG. You can't replace Bakula, c'mon.

it's been 30 years. even if you got the OG he wouldn't be the same person he was then. also, people move on. maybe he's not interested in rehashing something he's already done. kim cattrall didn't want to play samantha jones anymore despite being the most loved character on SATC. there's always the fear that if you try to recreate your previous success, if you fail then you tarnish its memory. and also, maybe the writers don't want to tell the same story, or maybe they don't want to tell the same story of someone 30 years later.

It's not a reboot. It's a sequel to the series. They even talk about the events of Sam Beckett in this new series. We will see if Bakula makes an appearance as Sam later.
