It's hard to pick out any other ballerina that could have done this variation so gracefully and steadilly as Novikova has while the piano is this slow. Her technique is sublime

The best in the role of Raymonda is the frequent partner of Rudolf Nureyev, Noella Pontois of the Paris Opera Ballet. Beautiful, exquisite, elegant - it is Nureyev's original lavish production! There is a clip of her last performance of this variation on YT, performed in 1983 just before she retired. Her characterization of Raymonda was perfect, and she even stayed in character for the applause.
