Xavi needs to stop playing Pedri as a second striker. It hurts how he misuses him. Why would he waste his best midfielder like that? I don’t get him. He’s only ruining Pedri and minimising the chances of Barca to win. Barca always plays better when Pedri has many touches. But in that shit position that Xavi forces him into he barely gets the ball. How is he supposed to create chances like that? On average Pedri always used to create at least 4 chances per game. But now Xavi is limiting him. Xavi is to blame here. I really think Pedri could make the difference if he actually played as a midfielder for once.

Problem number one is Xavi misusing his best midfielder: Pedri. He is playing him as a second striker. It doesn’t suit him at all. Pedri is a player who has to have many touches. Only then he can help the team the most. That’s what his old Las Palmas coach Pepe Mel also emphasised in a recent interview. He said that Pedri ball is all about control and passing. From what he has picked up in the Barca games the team always plays better when Pedri has much ball contact because he sees the pass where others don't. But Xavi is limiting him. Pedri only had 46 touches while playing 75 minutes. Romeu played less (55 min) and he had 58 touches. Pedri is suffering under this position - and the team too because Pedri has always been the most creative player. On average he created 4 chances per game. He made many key passes. But he is only capable to carry the team again if he actually plays in his natural position: as a proper midfielder. If Xavi doesn’t realise that his dumb experiment with Pedri isn’t working, Barca is not going to win anything any time soon. Pedri is the key part if they want to prevent a downfall.

Es un campo dificil y solo se vieron ganas en el 2do tiempo, se perdieron 45 tocando el balon de un lado al otro, hace falta mas desborde por las 2 bandas, romeu no puede jugar mas en partidos complicados, se le ve nervioso, la defensa hoy bien pero hay que ser mas agresivos, no creo que se gane la liga pero quedan 24 partidos, se tiene que mejorar y sobre todo ganar

This team is not good enough, period. In general, there were times the squad crushed and smashed their opponents, having zilion of great goal opportunities, and scoring 4-5 goals every game, today they struggle to beat Alaves, mark an epic loss against an Ukrainian club who even can't play at home, and can't deal with Rayo over the last seasons, AND in general, looks like a mediocre team who isn't worthy to win the league (ucl is of course out of reach) time to be humble and put an end to this constant chatter about how this team is great and wonderful, let's hope they end up among the top 4 this season, to keep the ucl dream alive next season
