Every company keeps making better equipment. Right when I go to buy a new mic I see you have a new review video. The noise floor testing reminds me of your early home podcasting episodes of Podcasters’ Studio where there would sometimes be a train in the background

The good news is that there are so many good options, it can be hard to choose but nobody owns the market on good gear and most of it will work really well for you for many, many years. I still use my Sony a6500 and it looks as good as all the models that came after it. Thanks for watching!

Shure may not tell you what to say in your video, but I'm sure they will have a thought about if they should send you your next microphone if they hear something negative. There's always a price to be paid.

If you calculated the amount of time I put into these videos, I'm practically paying them lol! A few pieces of gear would definitely not be worth the time and energy, but I hope that the reviews are helpful for people looking for any single piece of gear I review. The goal is always to just be one step of many on someone's decision tree and then to answer any questions I can. Appreciate the feedback. PS almost all my video reviews have something negative to say because no gear is perfect. No inherent negatives of this mic, if you're looking for a condenser, this is a solid option (but always check other reviews) but price and compatibility are issues I have brought up before about some Shure mics. Stay well!

@RayOrtega you did a good job with the video and I have no reason not to trust it. I do wonder why a company would send out microphones only to have the reviewer make a video nearly three months after they release the microphone to the public. Big brand names will always send out pre-production gear before the release so the reviewer can make their "unbiased" review. The reviewer will often sign a NDA and everyone will upload their video all on the same day blanketing all of the KZbin mic channels. It doesn't make a difference to me how you run your business. These are simply things I notice.

@@FLOODOFSINS Thanks and yes, I had this mic. pre-release but told them I could not get it out on release as I was working on another review and really since this isn't an actual biz and just my hobby that makes a little "play "money off ad rev and affiliates, I couldn't work on this till now. My only real channel goals are a silver play button and that's just so my kid will think I'm cool LOL. And p.s, I have the same feelings when I see a 'sponsored' video, I always take it with a grain of salt because of course any relationship is its own influence and that's why I'm glad to be only one of so many who make reviews about a product and hope that most will get a broad perspective before purchasing. It's also funny cause just this week I was thinking about how to explain value of my channel outside of any one product. I try to make most videos helpful beyond any single item because for me, it's about education and sharing knowledge, that is how this channel was born. In any single review, I try to teach concepts that apply to any AV production. In this video for example, learning a little more about what a dual-diaphragm means vs single (something I had to research) and then common practices of why it's important to use headphones, what plosives and sibilance are, etc. My reviews could be so much quicker if I stuck to the specs but I always hope that someone looking for information on a product will go away with more and be a better producer or share something they learned. Appreciate the feedback and helping me think through all that! I'll have to come back to this comment when I work on a new channel trailer! ;)
